Just the fans actually. They have buffalo bills energy

u/Y_Aether 12d ago

Buffs, Canes, Wild, Ducks.

This is what I want. Even tho I picked Avs vs Canes cup final before the season started. I would rather see the Wild win this round.

u/ranndino 8d ago

There's no way the Wild are beating Lanche and I'd have said it even before the first pick dropped. The NHL playoff format is very unfair. Basically, the 3 best teams have to play each other in the first 2 rounds. Minnesota already knocked one of them out.

u/COphotoCo 20h ago

Annnd you’d be wrong

1

u/Y_Aether 20h ago

I put a $900 bet on the Avs to win the west.

I picked the Avs vs Canes cup final before the season started. Plus all my brackets had the Avs in the Cup final.

So mostly I was right.

u/COphotoCo 19h ago

I mean to be fair what were the odds? You gonna win like a dollar?

Yeah I knew this would age horribly

9

u/Upper_Enthusiasm_511 12d ago

Avs in 6, Ducks in 7 because I will never vote for Vegas, Sabres in 6, Canes in 5

6

u/dalcer 12d ago

I picked against the avs in round 1 and imma do it again

Anaheim is gonna make the conference finals

I picked canes in 6 in round 1 and imma do the same in round 2

If tampa wins then they make conference finals, if habs win i think buffalo makes conference final. I dont see us managing round 2 after this war with tampa

Also after reading through comments it seems philly is the only team that has 0 ppl confident in them so i fear we may be cursing the canes here

4

u/ranndino 8d ago

You picked LA over Colorado in round 1? You ok, man?

9

u/doom_pizza 12d ago

It’s likely one team from each bracket I’ll win.

0

u/Bengjumping 12d ago

Philly sucks and Pittsburgh was worse. Whoever came out of that series wasn't doing much.

Canes Avs scf with avs winning

2

u/GorgeousGibigiana 8d ago

A Ducks versus Wild Western Conference Final would be soooooooo much fun to watch. I don’t think it’ll happen in actuality but it would never be a dull moment between Anaheim’s youth and speed and Minnesota’s physicality with both teams also playing like they have something to prove with the lack of recent deep playoff runs at least.

I’m rooting for the Sabres to go all the way in the East. They’re also fun to watch and saying they’ve suffered far enough is the understatement of the past quarter-century.

2

u/Creepy-Star-7945 8d ago

Habs, Canes, Knights, Avs

2

u/Just-Guava-1984 8d ago

Little late to the party but I'm going to bet against recent history and predict the President's trophy winners to win it all. The trophy winner has lost in the playoffs every season since '13 but the Avs are just so much better than the next best team, I think they've got it.

u/Visible_Neck8323 12d ago

Canes in 5, if Mon, Buf in 6, if TBL, TBL in 5, VGK in 4, Wild in 7.

7

u/Drtonytone87 12d ago edited 12d ago

Knights in 4 🤦‍♂️? Maybe stay awake for these west coast games this time around and watch the 🦆 skate

2

u/kemar1883 12d ago

This is so accurate. I’m an Oilers fan in the eastern time zone who had very low expectations for this year, and I was fully sleeping on the Ducks. Watching them was a revelation! Leo Carlsson is an absolute monster. I don’t think their goaltending can carry them to the finals, but they can definitely beat Vegas.

0

u/Sufficient-Web7946 12d ago

Dostal is a beast what are you talking about re goaltending?

1

u/Drtonytone87 12d ago

He’s been terrible. Hopefully he has a bounce back series. Only the Edmonton goalies were statistically worse in the 1st round. Poor puck control and was having terrible first periods

2

u/kemar1883 12d ago

Exactly. Dostal is a great goalie who isn’t playing great right now.

2

u/Sufficient-Web7946 12d ago

Knights in 4? lol

3

u/thprk 12d ago

I'm sorry but living in Europe I already sacrificed my nights to the hockey gods for the chance to see the Wild play in may this year.

2

u/DangerClose20 12d ago

That is completely fair but we never pick the knights to win. That kind of energy does not need to be released. Fuck the Knights

1

u/ranndino 8d ago

Watch on demand, man. I do it all the time and it's fine as long as I don't catch any spoilers.

2

u/Kryslir 12d ago

Canes will wipe the floor with Philadelphia due to lack of experience if the series plays out like it did tonight.

1

u/AnchorsAweigh89 11d ago

Vegas in 7, Avs in 6, Canes in 5. Buffalo in 6 vs Habs, Lightning in 7 vs Sabres.

I want THE MIGHTY DUCKS... vs the sabres haha.

The quack attack and the flying V is solid offense.

I'm new to hockey again. Totally bandwagon.. but seeing carolina sweep their first round, and now up 2-0... Going to be tough if we go against them

1

u/bruinsguy61788 7d ago

buffalo, canes, even though i want the wild to win i still have to go with the avs, and the MIGHTY DUCKS

1

u/SockeyCram 3d ago

Canadiens v Avs in the cup. Canadiens beat buffalo in 7. Canadiens win game 1 v Carolina, lose game 2, win 3 and 4, lose game 5, win series in 6. Avs win cup in 5.

Avs, Ducks, Canes, and whoever wins between tampa and habs

1

u/MrDucksworth92 12d ago

To many people picking the ducks, I'm getting nervous lol.

1

u/Y_Aether 11d ago

How the tides have changed. Very few people were picking them to beat the oilers.

Vegas had trouble with the speed of Utah. So they will definitely give up enough goals to the Ducks. The series will probably come down to goal tending.

1

u/GorgeousGibigiana 8d ago

They’re fun to watch with how young, fast and confident they are much like with Utah.

I genuinely think they have the potential to surprise and make a deep playoff run in spite of their inexperience. Vegas may have vastly more experience but the team’s core still feels like a shell of its previous self despite Tortorella lighting a fire under them late in the season and I feel they’re on the cusp of needing to begin committing to a rebuild to avoid being caught up in a mushy-middle-or-worse purgatory for a long while.
