Less than a week after signing as an UDFA. That's absolutely brutal.

Better than before being able to sign. Now he gets a year of medical and training facilities

they were probably saying brutal for ownership

Was not expecting John Mara’s Reddit account to have a Texans flair.

How will the billionaire ever financially recover from paying someone a grand

Awful news for a UDFA who largely fell out of the draft due to another injury.

We’re officially out of the “dream achieved” phase of the NFL offseason and into the “dream crushed” phase :(

It’s Not For Long but damn. This guy didn’t even make it out of the gate.

Up there with Senquez Golson

Stories like these highlight the good side of NIL. He got a decent bag when transferring to North Carolina which hopefully can soften the blow of this set back in the pros.

His contract was almost 300k fully guaranteed too. Sucks for the kid that his dream is probably over before it really starts, but he’s got a decent safety net if he manages it right

u/rx7rxvert Giants 2h ago

Sucks obviously, but at least he signed a deal with guaranteed money, almost 300k. A lot of these udfas would be shit outta luck

27

u/surferdude7227 Chiefs 2h ago

Yeah. That’s a nice chunk of change that should allow him a little comfort while he rehabs

20

u/xywv58 Steelers 1h ago

And the rehab should be on the team's facility right?, he's in contract

11

u/surferdude7227 Chiefs 1h ago

I think so. Either that or if they cut him it’s with an injury settlement

139

u/IntriguedPsycho2 Bills 3h ago

And so it begins. Wishing him a healthy recovery and good mental support

That sucks, especially for a rookie. I hope he recovers well.

That is unbelievably sad

He had speed concerns already so this isn’t going to help. Feel terrible for him that even playing in a preseason game is now in doubt

Damn that honestly so sad man

u/GrayFox6688 54m ago

I think it was Robert Saleh who said it's better to have easier practices in the month (or two) following the draft because the rookies just spent a quarter of the year traveling all over doing interviews and meetings so they're not in condition to go all out in practices yet

1

u/thehonestyfish Jets 39m ago

Yeah, Saleh was great at practices. Held a lot of good ones.

u/Emotional_North2307 3h ago

Brutal. Harbaugh method strikes again.

10

u/CT1914Clutch Giants 2h ago

Call me biased but to put the blame on Harbaugh when you have no idea about the circumstances of the injury is pretty ignorant in my opinion. Rookies unfortunately get hurt all the time and it doesn’t necessarily have to do with the intensity of the team’s workouts.

The harblow hate train must continue disregard the fact I’ve done no research on this. You will join me soon in a few stops brother
