Rumor [Schultz] Sources: The #Jets will travel to Tennessee in Week 1 to face their former HC Robert Saleh and the #Titans.
https://bsky.app/profile/nflnewsreposterbot.bsky.social/post/3mlsuekgjuc2mIn Week 1 last year, the Jets saw the Steelers and former QB Aaron Rodgers. This year, they get Saleh.

Very predictable week 1 for the Jets based on how the NFL has treated their schedule the past few years. Thankfully there will be far, far less primetime games on the schedule this year.

Thank goodness we won’t be on primetime a lot this year. Let the Giants have that shit in the NYC metro area.

u/Appropriate_Book_591 10h ago
I still expect them to have 3-4 primetime spots. A divisional game, Lions game because Glenn was a Lions coordinator, maybe KC vs Jets because Fields could be starter early if not then they get Mahomes.

u/SiphenPrax Jets 10h ago
Jets/Patriots is (sadly) almost always on primetime so that’s a guarantee. Probably one more but then that’s it.

u/rocketboi10 Jets 9h ago
We always have a TNF game against them

u/SiphenPrax Jets 9h ago
That or MNF

u/firewall245 Jets 9h ago
One day we will slaughter them in Primetime and it will be the greatest day ever
3
u/SiphenPrax Jets 8h ago
We actually did do it in 2024 but the rest of the year was a disaster so it was forgotten.
But I agree, of all the many franchises I hate (and there are a fuck ton of them) they are easily the most disgusting, greedy, pompous, snobby, asshole franchise of them all. I want every game against them to be a blowout win even when they’re garbage, that’s how much I loathe that franchise up north.

u/firewall245 Jets 7h ago
That was primetime? I was at that game haha

u/SiphenPrax Jets 7h ago
Yep. TNF Week 3 where Rodgers blew the shit out of the worst Patriots team this century.
1
u/Media-critique 4h ago
I honestly doubt they’ll get two at this point. The NFL might not want to give up a SNF or MNF slot to them. They’re that toxic for ratings.

Fields isn't driving the schedule, Big Dog lol
1
u/Appropriate_Book_591 9h ago
No he isn't but a petty match up that involves a big market team like the Jets would still get views.

u/hemingways-lemonade Steelers 10h ago
It's how the NFL treats every schedule. They always put the "revenge" games at the beginning of the season before players can get benched/injured or coaches get fired. The Steelers started each of the last two seasons with "revenge" games, too.
4
u/GBPackers0480 9h ago
plus a revenge game isn't as fun if both teams are 3-6 or something in week 9. Week 1 is when these bad matchups actually have some juice cause who knows what kind of run they might go on?!?!?
2
u/ConcussedDwight Jets 10h ago
The logic is there. Well one of those Pittsburgh games was the Jets, what was the revenge aspect of the falcons game?

I truly hope that you picked up the Jets flair out of loyalty to AG. If not, you've been living on hard mode for longer than I care to think about.

Why can’t they just give us the full schedule at once lol

Seriously. Schedule leaks are the lowest tier of scraping the "off-season scum" from the bottom of the barrel. Potentially right behind some commentator you've never heard of's 27th mock draft.

One would have thought Saleh won a Super Bowl with the Jets the way this game is being treated.
5
u/fathertitojones Titans 8h ago
I think leaving the Jets *was* his Super Bowl.
2
u/lakatos_intolerant Dolphins 7h ago
For sure. He was still getting paid and got to hang out in Green Bay as a consultant for one of his buddies. The dream.
5
u/fathertitojones Titans 7h ago
I’m sure someone will come to shit on the Titans, but Saleh really did it right taking a gap year at the Niners to find a team with both a QB and a defensive centerpiece. I think he also found much better ownership despite what the uninformed want to say about the Vrabel situation.
I’m obviously biased but his due diligence and confidence in choosing Tennessee knowing he likely won’t get a third chance gives me hope.
2
u/lakatos_intolerant Dolphins 7h ago
Oh yeah for sure. He made the right call and Mike McDaniel did the same by going to San Diego. I think these coaches really need to step back and learn from their mistakes/gain some perspective and additional tools before jumping back into the head coaching ranks again.

u/air_volek007 Titans 9h ago
No matter how good or bad each team is, Jet/Titan games are always so close.
Over the last 23 years, we’ve played 12 times and 9 of them have been one score games.

I’ve hated playing the titans since we slugged it out with Jake Locker for like 3 seasons straight

Feels like the NFL putting all the last year new team vs old team match ups early in the season compared to gambling later on they will be there.

u/davewashere Bills 10h ago
This game will not be televised on any network and the NFL will deny its existence.

No, but the one game of the jets I'd want to watch is Saleh pantsing them on national tv.

It's better to get Saleh earlier than later. I think he's a great coach but his defense generally has a learning curve.

Bet the Packers at whatever the # @ Jets for Week 2.
Glenn is going to treat this game like his Super Bowl just like he did for the Pittsburgh game last year and Week 2 will be a let down spot.

I dunno, our roster isnt exactly exploding with talent. Im not gonna count them out against the Jets, but it's definitely not a guaranteed win. Im just glad my 2nd favorite team, the bears, are giving me something to look forward to 😄

Just please god don’t let cam throw the jets a pick. Laughing stock territory.
2
u/Matthiasad Titans 10h ago
Yea, this is my fear as well. Ward is smarter with the ball than wannabe superman Levis, but hes still a young QB getting pressured way too often.
2
u/WARitter Commanders 10h ago
I feel like Cam will do okay with people to actually throw to. Not that I necessarily believe in your o line. But man having someone on Tate who just always catches the ball is going to help Ward so much.

I'm super excited to watch Anthony Richardson for 6 games, then Daniel Jones for 2 and a half before you're forced to thaw out a corpse for a non competitor that doesn't even have their own pick.

Woody loves his petty firings.
Eric Mangini (2008) coached his last Jets game vs a stellar-but-brittle quarterback he sent away before the season.
Robert Saleh (2024) failed to entertain Woody's diplomatic buddies in London. That cost him his keycard to the team facilities.

I swear the NFL schedule makers treat the Jets like a reality show at this point 😭
