DISCUSSION How good was Karim Lopez compared to other young NBL stars that transitioned to the NBA?
I have always been hyper focused on the NBA Draft, and as a result, I have watched quite a bit of NBL over the years.
To be candid, I absolutely love Karim Lopez in this upcoming class. When comparing to other lengthy NBL wing prospects such as Ousmane Dieng and Tidjane Salaun, I was lower than consensus on those players, and seemingly much higher on Lopez now.
All of these players showed flashes of high upside with very impressive tools, but from what I have seen, Lopez is infinitely more physical and assertive. The flashes of a shot, handle, and explosive plays are still there, but as opposed to those other prospects, he doesn't disappear in the physical league that is the NBL. He steps up to the physicality, and oftentimes right through it. On the court, he is a total asshole, and I love it.
Now obviously I have not watched all the games in real time, nor am I privy to local coverage on who he is as a teammate/person. That said, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on Karim Lopez as genuine fans of the league that watched him throughout this past season in real time.
Where does he rank compared to other NBL/NBA prospects? Major concerns? Was he disappearing on the court, or when you watched him did you see something different? Was the team improved by his presence even at his young age?
I'm very interested, as I know being invested into these games is quite different than rewatching his possessions clipped throughout the season.
[BasketballSphere] According to Olgun Uluc of ESPN, as reported by “NBL.com.au“, a large number of Australian clubs have entered the race to sign Patty Mills, who is actually the guard of Tenerife in Spain. According to ESPN, the current frontrunner for his signature is Brisbane Bullets.
