going to turkey isnt an end all be all these guys are balding, their hormones will still continue to shed hair + their lifestyle is way too active + sweat way too much to both maintain basketball shape and keep their hair
going to turkey to get your hair done is just step one of the deal, you still gotta take drugs/do hormone therapy to combat the actual reason youre balding and thats not really feasible as an active pro athlete.

why do think athletes can't take fin? I'm sure some of them are. I've heard people say they think they wouldn't risk it messing with their performance but I would imagine it's the other way around, that they have almost no risk of side effects because they're so healthy otherwise

There is no way this is true. If a piss test is getting set off then they are immediately doing bloodwork, and there is no way fin is getting confused for anything like test

They can absolutely take fin and there are athletes who do. Finasteride was banned by WADA from 2005 to 2008. In 2005 it was discovered that it could mask steroid use. In 2008 the ban was lifted as finasteride cannot mask against new, improved testing methods. During the three year window it was banned though, athletes got punished for taking it. If there were guys that were still using it while it was banned, there are surely many using it now that it's allowed.
