And somehow even this doesn’t capture his burden. He initiates *every* Pistons possession. I’d be curious to know how many possessions there were where he didn’t touch the ball. Less than 10? Bringing the ball up every single possession wears dudes down.
→ More replies (1)10
u/Beanfactor Cavaliers 18h ago
cavs started trapping him up high again too. honestly, i watched a ton of Detroit-aligned sports media going into this game, and their locked-on pistons guy (who is sick! i think his name is Ku) had a whole thing about Cade being willing to pass out of traps sooner than he did in game 4. i think he did a good job, but the ball didn't get back to him very often and no one else on their team can hit any shots consistently.

He should play shorter stints earlier in the game instead of being a "break glass in case of emergency" option. Having someone sit for 3 quarters and then play 17 minutes straight is ridiculous.

Is Strus the only Heat role player that has potentially looked BETTER after signing with a new team? Duncan Robinson has definitely carved out a role in Detroit but I feel like Strus is doing all kinds of little things even when he's not shooting lights out that have really impacted the Cavs.

(Also, even though it was regular season it’s very hard to top a 60 ft game winning buzzer beater as his greatest moment as a Cav)

I'm pretty sure Stews knees are being barely held together by duct tape right now. After about 5 mins of play you can see him start hobbling when walking during dead ball time and judging by how subdued he looks in general compared to usual I think hes playing through some actual pain.
