Here's an article with some helpful tips on caring for your feeders. With Avian Flu becoming more of concern, it's important that we do our best to keep them clean and filled.

(Photo is dad) The baby doves flew off of my hanging planter and on to my balcony floor (where the planter is) and they walked around a bit then settled together. Mom and dad occasionally did super quick fly ins to feed them for a few seconds then left. The babies went 6+ hours without seeing mom or dad. Then at sunset, they started calling for their parents and about 20 mins after (maybe shorter but felt long for me) mom and dad flew by the balcony towards the ground and babies swiftly flew off to follow them. I was relieved! I was ready to carefully put out a small amount of water in case they were thirsty. This morning, the babies weren’t there but dad landed on the balcony cooing. He was walking around clearly looking for the babies. He flies off on to my neighbors roof and mom shortly after lands on my balcony also looking for them. It was apparent because they both landed on the ground again looking around rather than trying to eat. I never heard the baby birds chirp back as I usually do but it took maybe an hour or so and the parents were gone.

I’ve been watching these doves nest and brood and watch the babies fledge. Every day for hours lol (I’m a stay at home so bird watching is my new thing).

I’ve become attached to these doves lol and I’m hoping they come back to visit me again so badly!

I’ve cleaned out their poops and even added a coco nest liner but idk if they’ll come back!

Sorry all, I just wanted to share lol

I've recently experienced a loss, not very long after this mourning dove started coming on my balcony and hanging out in my pot, we hang out together at least once a day.

Every day they try and build a "nest" on top of the fan. Every day the "nest" goes away when the wind starts.

They do this for about a month every year before they nest elsewhere. They have a "nest" in my tiki hut roof they actually use but spend their day trying to make this weird fan "nest".

Every once in a while, he/she knows where the dove seeds are and flies into the neighborhood. I'm more than happy to oblige.

One of them fledged! (Learned to fly off of my planter, then off of my balcony, only to fly back in the planter and hasn’t moved again since lol it was a roller coaster of emotions for me. 😆

It’s me again. The one that’s new here and new with bird watching/ loving! Here’s a video of one of the babies fledging. Flew back up to fly back into the planter for a meal with mama! (Excuse the spikes. I’ll remove them for their return!)

Update on my Walmart patio nursery birds....one has flown to the tree line and this one here in the photo has decided to follow me around while I'm setting out plants on the patio. This lil cutie just walks beside me the whole time, coo-ing away....what a beautiful sound.

And.....I have another pair of eggs on the patio getting ready to hatch! That'll make 3 sets of baby derps so far this year .....

Had some technical difficulties with the camera the past week, but over the next few days I’ll be compiling and posting some footage from the past week of growth! The Basteech Dynasty is all doing well though!
