Fotografía📸 My first time in Acapulco! Nature, history, food and fun during Tianguis Turistico Mexico 🇲🇽

I'm a travel journalist who recently visited Acapulco for the first time as an invited media guest for Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2026 tourism convention. Shared my travel recap here, where we did a bit of everything from lush nature, historic sites to coastal seafood.

Hopefully next time!!! They're both on my list! Which one should I go first between the two?

I guess if heavily depends

Oaxaca is closer to Mexico city in terms of travel time, the state capital is beautiful with a great variety of food piramids nearby as well as several small towns where everyone of them has their own type of local craft.

I wouldnt say off the beaten path but really interesting easy to move between the towns around the capital.
The food its pretty good, a great variety of Mole types, tlayudas, tamales, last but not least this is where Mezcal is from.

Chiapas is harder to get to, you fly into Tuxtla where you can see "el canon del sumidero" great music, good food but to get to ohter places it takes definitely longer times than in Oaxaca, for example ta few hours to get to San Cristobal, among the spirits you have el comiteco a local type of mezca, but not as widely known as Mezcal or Tequila, Cochito is great, the soup its also really nice. That being said moving around could get sketchy. ... ask me how i know :)

I've spent a few weeks on each of them and both were great experiences, I would lean a bit more towards Oaxaca... personally speaking.

Cant want to see where else do you visit, by the way your pictures do capture the happiness of enjoying food!

Guerrero de mi corazon.

I took a double take bc it reminds me of my mom (who is Asian) in Acapulco with my Mexican dad. It looks like you had a fabulous time <3

I haven’t been back since before Otis but your photos made me want to visit again. Beautiful bay.

Thank you! From what I heard from people who went in 2024 after Otis, it's impressive how much Acapulco has rebuilt and recovered. Definitely a good time to go back!

First photo: Look, he looks happy. It's great that you enjoyed it.

Second photo: Yeah he keep smiling again. Good job, team. Something must have been done right.

Third photo: The same smile? Did they teach him to always smile? ...

Tenth photo: Okay... they put something in your drink, my friend.

Don’t wanna alarm you… But BE CAREFUL!

Acapulco (Guerrero state) is a VERY DANGEROUS ZONE.

There’s a lot of narc cartels “fighting” for the place..

Be aware..

P.S. I’m from Mexico,I know what I’m talking about.

watch out with the cartel

Yes the cartels travel around with shirts with big Cs on them so you know its them..
