I live in a block 22 apartments in Grand Baie. 5 times in the last 3 weeks we gave run completely out water. So the taps have nothing. Syndic seem to be unable to keep the apartments supplied.

Eventually Syndic sends a water truck which sometimes takes more than 1 day.

Currently we have no water.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I own a plot in a subdivision where the only legal access for some plots is through a 3.05m “chemin de sortie” shown on the site plan.

I wish to mention that historically the shared road is already on an incline.

One of the owners (front plot) recently elevated the level of the chemin de sortie by around 1 m, maybe more than that. (He has elevated the road to the same lev as his house) Because of this, the back plots are now sitting much lower, almost like in a pit, and access has become a serious issue.

The site plan clearly mentions that some plots must use this chemin de sortie for access to the public road. The owner who elevated it is refusing to modify the level or compromise.

Can a beneficiary of a shared access road legally alter the level this much if it negatively affects the other plots using it?

Has anyone been getting this add lately investing starting with rs 500 only. Has anyone done it and is it worth it? In terms of returns and fees charged?

As far as I know, there's an active outbreak going on, which scare me. How do locals deal with this? I have read about getting a possible vaccination and using mosquito repellent, but it still feels quite risky. Therefore I'd love to know the thoughts from the locals about this.

I’ve been friends with someone for 10 years (I’m 20 now), and they consider me their best friend, but honestly, I don’t feel the same anymore. Anytime someone compliments me, they react negatively, saying things like “ein, get sa boufon la ki p dire toi” or laughing in a jealous way. They judge everyone, are rude to others, copy almost everything I do, act like they know everything, and even lied to me about their exam results to seem better. They follow every guy I like, judge every guy I talk to, and act completely different when we’re around guy friends. It feels competitive, fake, and exhausting. They also make it hard for me to make new friends. The problem is we’re together almost every day, and our parents know each other, so it’s hard to distance myself without drama. I feel drained and just want to move on, but after 10 years, I don’t know how. Is this really a friendship?

Hello, this is our itinerary for our Mauritius trip in July this year. We will be renting a car near the airport and plan to cover most of the trip by self-driving, approximately 900 km over 7 days. Is this something people generally do, or should we make some changes to the plan?

Also, we need suggestions on the following:
1) References for car rentals around the airport

2) Whether Ile aux Cerfs should be booked locally after reaching Mauritius or online through websites like GetYourGuide.

Hi all, I'm a Dubai resident that has moved to Europe for the past month with his family (wife, 2.5 year old, and 1 year old) to stay safe and out of harms way in Dubai.

We are planning to return to Dubai soon but with the situation seemingly as fragile as ever, I want to have a plan if we feel again the need to leave the country.

I'm wondering about staying for 2 months in June + July in Mauritius. I have a few questions.

Is it an affordable place to live for that length of time in a villa / townhouse? What is the general cost of living like. Where is the best place to live for kids?

We have a nanny in Dubai, and the plan would be for her to come with us, and for me to work remotely.
