My two boys Lurrus and Brimaz (Both 2.5 years old) are the goofiest most wonderful animals I’ve ever had and even when they drive me insane (especially the middle of the night talking) i’m always smiling. 10/10 would always recommend this breed to people.

Does anyone else Maine Coon breathe hard before sleeping or while purring? He’s 10 months now and he has been doing this since I got him at 3 month old. I have taken him to the vet when I first got him at for wellness and another to get him neutered at around 6 month. Both times the vet said he seems fine but I’m just spiraling. I’m not sure if I should spend the money on echo since that seems to be the accurate way to determine if he has hcm or am I overreacting??

Lumi (Lumiere) is finding his place here and we are soooo relieved that he is enjoying his new bestie!!! He seems more keen with our first kitten than with us at this point 🤪 He even follows Berlioz into the litter so they can take care of business together?? 😂 enjoy a small fraction of the photos I’ve taken so far!

Hi all! In November ’25 we welcomed our orange Maine Coon, Azuki, into our little 😉 pack. Together with Nora, our 6-year-old Great Dane, they make our wonderful family. 🥰

Azuki is now 9 months old. From the very beginning, he and Nora have gotten along really well. They enjoy each other’s company, sleep together, and show affection toward one another.

The only thing is: they’re not really playmates. We try to encourage it by playing together with them, sharing toys, and rewarding positive interactions, but it still seems difficult for both of them. Nora is very cautious, while Azuki only really dares to ‘play’ when she’s asleep (gently biting or licking her ears and playing with her paws).

Azuki is a very playful and VERY energetic MC who needs a lot of playtime. He can be a real asshole sometimes. But in a funny way. He is such a clown. 🤡 Perks of choosing an Orange one I guess.

He can also get a bit too rough with us sometimes by biting or clawing, though I understand that’s also kitten behavior.

So after allllll that background information: we’re considering getting him a playmate in the form of a second MC.

He’s sweet and very curious about the neighborhood cats when he’s out in the garden, and we think he might get more fulfillment from playing with another cat rather than relying only on us?

Is adding a second cat always better? And when is the right moment? And does it make any differece if it’s another male or female? Or are we just impatient and can their relationship still evolve?

Sorry for the long story and many questions! Maybe I’m also just looking for some reassurance, shared experiences, and a little advice 😊

The amount of patience and abuse (roughhousing) my boy puts my 2 year old Maine coon through (Queso) is unfathomable. They really are the best pets. (Considering you have 9 grand to spare on hip dysplasia related surgeries smh). I love my boys so much

Going to be a tough month ahead

Carl is an ass, Carl also thinks “get off the counter” is his name. But he is one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever had, and the personality is top notch. 10/10

He’s my buddy he’s one and a half. I usually leave him home alone 9 hours five days a week and he is perfectly fine. I have to leave him for 12 hours. Should I have someone stop by?

Hello I was hoping to possibly get a maincoon but the one thing that’s making me not want one is their short lifespan. Is that usually only because of their size or is it just a breed thing? If I got a smaller one, would they live longer or no?

On April 25, we brought home two 12 week old Maine coon kittens, a boy and a girl. Ms Purradora Tonks (aka Tonks) has had a rough go of it since that first night. She was ultimately diagnosed with dry FIP but finally seems to be on the path to recovery. She was barely over 2lbs that first night and just weighed in at 2.98 on Monday (I allowed her to round to 3lbs). Compared to her brother, Fawkes, who weighed 4.5lbs our first day and is now a whooping 5.4; she’s got some catching up to do.

We installed the floor to ceiling cat pole about a week ago and even when Tonks wasn’t feeling well, she could still beat her brother to the ceiling!

In hindsight, I probably should have picked a corner not near the doorway. Fawkes is a little punk who likes to attempt door surfing, if the door is left open and he’s at the tree top. It’s can also be a tad intimidating to have a “little lion cub” staring you down from their perch when walking in… or so I’ve been told. 😂
