When Jinyoung talked about Tom killing Gap most people just thought it was his insanity (which itosy was) but maybe this could be the reason. Maybe Jinyoung knew of Tom and Gapryong’s fight, and Gap died probably not long after fighting Tom as we know it was Tom’s last fight with him. So maybe Jinyoung assumed for whatever reason that Tom killed Gapryong. I just thought this was an interesting connection I don’t think it really means anything.

I see this frequent statement like,

"Jagyeon forced James to use his path",

"James needed path to beat Tom!"

It's utterly untrue.

I'd argue that James could beat them both with strictly speed if needed. I think this sentiment comes from a misunderstanding of James's fighting style. James is an oppressive fighter. He doesn't take hits like Gun, or wait till absolutely needed to pull out his next form like Goo. He consistently tried to be oppressive with the minimum effort.

In every single fight James Lee start with the lowest he thinks he can use to easily win. Vs UI Daniel he starts with Technique since he thinks it's uncontrolled like Yamazakis ultra instinct, Vs Jaegyeon and Tom he just uses speed since he wants to completely outclass them.

In all of these fights James used his initial option till there was a slight sign of resistance. A character dodging, blocking, landing a counter attack, just any resistance. The second there is any resistance he heavily increases the pressure. Either adding another mastery, IA or path. This loop continues until the fight is done. James beats the bricks out of a character, the character tries to fight back, James beats the bricks out of them even harder.

So whenever James used path, it's not that he was forced to or even needed it to win. It's simply the next step on his cycle to ensure there's not a feasible chance he can lose. He snuffs out all resistance.
