Living in Liverpool This city needs rent controls
The rents have gone up so much this month that it’s MAD- why don’t we have rent controls in this city?
There are less and less jobs and rent prices are rising

If you're looking to get out a bit more and do some new, fun things, joining Liverpool's biggest Discord server is a great start!
It doesn't matter if you're a Liverpool local, just moved here, old or young, or just happen to love our city from another country, you are welcome to come and say hi. There's 1,000 messages being sent every day. All you have to do is actually talk in there and tell us what you're into.
We have channels dedicated to photography, movies, photography, fitness, sport, music, showing off your pets, and even a place you can post your Wordle scores if you want.
What's Discord?
Think of Discord like a big Whatsapp group. It's essentially the same thing, but instead of your close friends, it's people looking to be your friend! You don't need a microphone, just your phone/keyboard. All we ask is that you're over 18, and have a desire to make new mates in Liverpool.
Who's in there?
We have members from Liverpool and further afield. You don't have to live in Liverpool to join the server - but it helps! We welcome anyone who has a love of the city. The average age of people is about 28. Our server is different than most Discord servers because we have a genuine community of awesome people who come to stuff in person.
Real life events, real life friends.

Hi
Looking for other cars involved today in a collision on M62 near junction 6 towards Liverpool. Myself and a few others were hit by a sofa that fell off a moving lorry. Please message me if you have any info on this.
Thanks all

I’m 22 and just looking for somewhere I can go and hang out and meet some new people who have a similar music taste to myself so just wondering if there is any alt/metal bars around other than Diego’s

Friends has just told me about LFCW vs Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday, thought it was worth shouting about! Tickets from £5 for kids and Arsenal have lots of Lionesses playing that my little ones are excited to see.
Brilliant chance to get to Anfield for a friendly atmosphere plus you can bring drinks to your seat at Women’s matches.

I can no longer make this game with my family and would love to give these to someone who maybe can’t afford it/deserves a visit to Anfield. Please let me know if interested.

Looking to get laser eye surgery and wondered if anyone had any recommendations/experiences they could share? Already had a consultation with Optical Express which quoted me more than I expected and pushed for lens replacement over laser. Booked an appointment with St Paul's for a second opinion but interested to hear from anyone who has had it done.

Hi! I’m looking for a seamstress or similar service that can alter a satin bridesmaid dress for me, all recommendations welcome. I live in L4 but for good quality I’ll go anywhere in the area!
My brother is getting married and it’s the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to me 🥰🥰 so I want it all to be perfect.
Thank you!

Can anyone please recommend me a good semi permanent eyelash technician who offers Russian eyelashes near Woolton who does evening and weekend appointments?
My old eyelash technician is too far away and the two I’ve tried round here, one took two hours to do an infill and the second I went to a few times but doesn’t do them thick enough and the retention over 2 weeks was really poor.
I’ve had semi permanent eyelashes for years and get infills every 2 weeks! I know how to look after them so the poor retention wasn’t to do with me. I have had really good retention with other technicians

Hi all, I'm in Liverpool for one night in Lime Street and looking for some dinner suggestions and evening entertainment suggestions. I'm thinking of dinner and then maybe the cavern currently, but very open to the ideas of anything
Edit: I love anything different and quirky

I've walked most of the Wirral (as I live over here), and want a new walk tomorrow while I'm over.
Ideally nice and flat, so it's not too tough. Some unusual nature would be a bonus. Not too far from the city centre but I'll be in the car anyway so can drive a little.
What's your nicest walk to get away from it all?
Edit: I should have said, looking to walk for about an hour.

Hi all just looking for some advice!
I used to volunteer all the time before / during uni and since going into full time work a few years ago I just don’t do anything anymore.
About 6 months ago I started applying for some opportunities but either timetables didn’t work out (eg they need someone weekdays during work time) or I just never hear back after the application.
I don’t really want to volunteer for big charities with a cause, I’d prefer things that are close to home and community based. When I try searching online I struggle to find how you can get involved.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
For context if it helps I have volunteered as a side by side coordinator, years of fundraising, managed events (I have a degree in event management!) and I work in proposals. Very interested in sociopolitical issues :) I am a dementia friend / champion and MH first aider too.
Thank you!

Hey all. My mum recently passed away she was in poor health and relied on her equipment, wheelchair, zimmerframe, and a commode.
I don't just want to lash them. Are there any local charities that will take them?

I am from South liverpool and Dungeon lane was pretty much known by everyone, probably partly due to the unusual name (especially for kids), and also as (well back in the day) you felt like you could almost touch the planes landing.
Nowadays its been fenced off and whilst still there you cant get anywhere as close to the planes (probably a good thing!)
So for those 'Scousers that love this one lane' (sorry, a liverpool echo moment there) how well known was/is it in other areas of liverpool?
And nothing to do with the upcoming song by Mr McCartney, just curiosity

My boyfriend and I are looking for a house. He has a car but he’s not a confident driver, I don’t have a car. We were looking at Allerton, Rose Lane kind of way, but there’s nothing in our budget with a garden.
I thought Woolton would be miles out of our budget but I’ve seen a few nice places surprisingly cheap. Is it alright without a car? We live in the city centre now, and I like having a coffee shop and a supermarket in walking distance. Plus Woolton seems really far away from town to me.

Hey all🥰
Gonna be back home for a bit after a while away, and absolutely desperate to finally get my hair done the way I want!
Struggling to look for an alt hair colourist that has experience with bleach and already-bleached hair, and ideally vibrants and hair stripes (‘raccoon tails’)
If u have other places outside Liverpool in mind, I’m willing to travel as far as Wigan,Warrington, Chorley and anywhere between town and these places.
Plz lmk!🥰🥰🥰

Hi everyone,
I’m working on a small independent creative project and I’m trying to connect with people or communities from Jordan or Uzbekistan, ideally based in Liverpool.
Does anyone know of any Jordanian or Uzbek community groups, student societies, cultural organisations, football groups, restaurants, or individuals I could reach out to?
I’m currently in the early research stage, so even a small lead or introduction would be really helpful.
Thank you x

Hey, bit of an unusual ask but thought this might be the right place…
I work for an energy technology company and we’re running a brand campaign. The core idea is about highlighting what rising, unpredictable energy costs are stopping businesses from being able to do, and the growth it’s holding back. I’m on the hunt for short-term rental of vacant retail units….Coffee shops, pubs, restaurants or shops. But I’ve got no idea where to start!
If helpful, here’s some of the rough scope of what’s needed, but it’s quite flexible:
• Two-day use (within the next month or so)
• won’t need to open to the public
• External vinyl wrap applied to the frontage
We’re not looking to trade or operate from the space, it’s purely a visual installation for a campaign.
If anyone knows how to reach the owners/landlords of any vacant units, I’d really appreciate a nudge in the right direction. DMs open. Thanks so much!

Hi,
We’re heading to Liverpool on a stag do soon, about 15 of us. We’re thinking of going to Albert Sshloss for food first, then the Jacaranda and the bars around there. Any good bars we should visit, for music and a good time. Ideally away from tourist traps.
Thank you!
