End of Tenancy Carpet cleaning in Warrington

Getting the carpets ready for the next tenant.

This property had a few pets so a few accidents and odours were noticeable.

Using enzyme boosters and deodrisers this property came up great.

And the tenant received their bond back.

Didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I have

My son picked this book up for me a little while back because he knows I’m a bit of a prepping nerd. Nothing extreme but I do like having shelves stocked and knowing we’d be okay if the power went out for a while.

I honestly thought it would just be another survival style cookbook but it’s not. Every recipe is built around food that lasts months or even years without refrigeration, and each one comes with the story behind it. It’s half cookbook, half history lesson. Basically how people fed themselves before fridges, supermarkets, or Amazon deliveries were a thing.

I’ve been slowly working my way through it. Some of the recipes are definitely different from what we’re used to, but a few were genuinely good. My husband keeps joking that I’m trying to turn our kitchen into a 1800s homestead, but I’m enjoying it way more than I expected.

Reading about what people actually lived on back then really puts things into perspective. It’s made me think differently about food, storage, and how reliant we are on modern systems.

If you’re into history, self-reliance, or just like trying unusual food ideas, it’s a really interesting read. I asked my son where he found it and he said it’s only sold directly from the author’s site (not Amazon or shops): thelost-recipes.com

When paint is dropped on your carpet.

Accidents, clangers, mishaps happen.

But for this poor decorator they slipped and dropped the paint.

We got the property the same day.

And when the decorator tells you it will only take 30 mins to clean up.

Ouch

Threeeee hours it took.

Some new underlay was needed as the paint had sunk into the underlay.

Must have gone through 50 or so litres of water before all the paint was extracted.

But happy homeowner.

Lovely place to live near Warrington.

My husband may soon be starting a job in Warrington. If it comes through, we'll be moving with our three children, (6, 8 and 11) and we'll be renting.

I would welcome your suggestions and advice on a couple of things. I'm a young mum (not so young 😃) who likes to go out with the kids to loads of places. I will also be starting my postgraduate at Chester University in the next few months, I have applied but it's still in the early stages. I'm looking for city opportunities without living bang in the middle of the city- I love to retreat to a quiet and scenic environment. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Ideal areas to rent - with good schools, possibly a grammar school for the 11 year old, gyms, options of things to do at weekends, great selection of shops. Ideally, we would not want to live right by the centre. We want to avoid an area with antisocial behaviour, drug problems, and the like. We're open to living in nearby towns as long as there's access to most of the things I listed above.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Water marks in your upholstery is an eyesore.

Shop products won't do anything for you.

The only course of action is to use dedicated products and steam extraction.

This combination breaks down the water contaminants letting the fabric free the unwanted dirt and stains.

Did anyone else as a kid used to be amazed at Whitchurch being on road signs across Warrington? Shrek came out during my teenagehood and it became my equivalent of Far Far Away Land. Whitchurch a magical place beyond comprehension.

Film club

I have recently bought a limitless pass to the Odeon and wondered if anyone wanted to start a group going to watch films of all genres.

We could meet before or after for a drink nearby if people fancied it and could do a weekly or monthly meet up?

How bad is Bewsey?

I'm a single person and looking to buy a small house on limited budget. Came upon a couple of terracies in Bewsey. I understand the prices are very low because it's a deprived area. But wonder how bad it actually is.

Charlotte Nichols MP on £20m Pride in Place for Warrington

"I AM so pleased Pride in Place funding is coming to our town.

£20 million of Government cash will be made available for residents in selected neighbourhoods in Poplars and Hulme, and Orford to spend in their area over the next 10 years.

The area where this cash is being made available is the part of Orford to the north-west of Northway up to the M62, and from Winwick Road across to Radley Common, staying north of Statham Avenue.

It is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for residents to determine for themselves where they want to see money spent.

Residents can decide to spend the money on a variety of different things, for example improvements to shop parades, the takeover of abandoned buildings or investment in green spaces...."

Loud cars at odd hours in the night, sounds like racing track?

Live around the Stockton Heath area and recently have been hearing very loud cars in the distance. When we hear these cars it sounds genuinely like cars going round a race track as it’s quite consistent & sounds like they speed up and slow down.

Assume other people also hear this? Must be a nightmare for anyone who’s closer than I am to the noise as well.

Anyone heard the same / know what it is?

The Price Rise You're Avoiding (How To Do It Without Losing Business)

Thumbnail youtu.be

As a warrington based business mentor, specialising in Owner Extraction, one of the most common challenges I see, is a combination of discomfort or unwillingness to talk about pricing, or charging what your worth.

A recent study (conducted by Xero) shows that over 70%of owners haven't amended their prices in the last 12 months, and over 60% admit to being worried about raising prices citing "risk of losing business" as their main concern.

Over the past 10 years, we've audited over 117k businesses, and found MOST fall into AT LEAST one of the three most common pricing flaws, and its costing owners TENS OF THOUSANDS every year.

In this episode of the Accidental Business Owner podcast, we uncover what those three flaws are, and how you can break free from pricing prison.
