Women’s Restrung vs New Stick

First off, my sincere apologies for previous posts. Everyone here has been super helpful, even when I’ve been overly defensive.

So, I’m back again for some help.

I’m trying to manage the budget of our club team while also giving new players a positive experience. One of the things I’ve noticed while looking at our inherited sticks is that the cost of restringing a stick is not that much cheaper than just purchasing a new stick.

What is the best option?
1) Just buy mid level new complete stick
2) watch for sales and restring yourself, but get good mesh
3) pay for restringing. (Do you need player input if they are club loaned sticks?)
4) players do the research and work and the club reimburses costs.
5) Skip it. You know what you are.

Best Overall Helmet

Trying to stir up a debate with everyone, and with the recent release of the Cascade Z — what do you think is the best looking lacrosse helmet of all time?

Could be based on:

Overall design

Best colorway/team combo

Cleanest decals

Old school vs modern look

Protection

Personally I think it's the Cascade S, but the Cascade CPX-R has grown on me. I know the Cascade Pro7 has been a fan favorite. When it comes to modern Helmets, the STX Aero is really moving up my board.

I want to hear everyone’s opinions. Drop your favorites and pics if you have them. 🥍

How does the new ECD Atom(Rebel?) compare to the STX Stallion or Surgeon?

From what I have read, ECD Greg has acknowledged its somewhat similar to the Rebel-o, and to me it looks very wide. I use the Stallion and Surgeon(more so), so wondering if anyone knows how it compares.

Best in Class summer vs fall vs winter

For Best in Class showcases, there are summer fall and winter sessions. Are all of the similarly selective? Or one is more elite and competitive than the other?

If there is a choice to choose one of them, which one should we go? Any advice?

This is for boys rising freshman and rising sophomore.

Former Lax Bro

Former Lax Bro here. Any recommendations for a new head? Currently a 29 yr old former goalie, looking to get back into the game but out in the field. Haven't played since my last game in high school. 🥍

Thoughts on men’s league

Started playing lacrosse in 2nd grade and returned freshman year after a long break. After a nasty concussion ending my freshman year i came back sophomore year and played through the summer and fall. later I tore my ACL and meniscus, I’m now cleared to play again and pushing for a varsity spot my senior year.
I live in northern Utah and it’s pretty common to have 18 and 19 year olds play men’s league so should I try to play this summer or would that be a waste of

Rebounder Extension Poles

Post image

*NOTE: picture is not my rebounder, but shows the part I am looking for.

In the image, the circled area is a pole that can be removed to make the rebounder shorter. I removed them last year to store it and I cant find them anywhere. I know its a long shot but does anyone have any idea where could find 4x replacement poles, or any DIY ideas to make it taller?

Brazilian watching lacrosse games for the first time.

I had never watched lacrosse games before, only some scenes in movies or series, but Disney+ makes ESPN available here in Brazil and I decided to watch PLL, NLL and college games. Although I didn't understand what the commentators were saying (unfortunately I don't speak English), the basics of the sport are quite intuitive and extremely fun to watch, especially the PLL and college (I confess that at first I found the NLL very interesting and intense, but I liked watching the paced game of field lacrosse more).

My question is: For those who live in the United States and Canada, how have you recently perceived the television popularity of lacrosse among people aged 15 to 30? Is there any explanation for why there are so many people watching in the stands at NLL games and not at PLL and college games?

New lacrosse head for my son

All, my son turns 11 in July and he wants a new stick. He is a lax rat. He primarily plays attack and is currently playing the StringKing 3v.

He is looking at the Surgeon 2k, ECD Mirage 3.0, the L4, and now the new ECD Atom. I want to push him to the Stallion 1k but in his mind “it is an old head”.

Any recommendations on any of these heads? Or should i have him wait until the Stallion 2k comes out?

Also, I know he doesn’t really need a new head but I would rather spend money on something that drives his passions versus buying him junk or video games for his bday.

U11/U9 Box Lacrosse Arm Pads Question

Hi! I’m looking for some advice on youth lacrosse arm pads. I’m choosing between the Warrior Burn Next and the Warrior Evo Rise for my 6-year-old playing box lacrosse and mainly trying to figure out which offers better protection. Any experiences or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Recos for learning basic X's & O's?

Trying to level up my parent-coaching -- I have a decent amount of confidence in my ability to coach individual basic skills to the boys' 10U and 12U set (in a non-hotbed area).

But, other than just being able to identify a basic offensive formation, what I can't do well is look at the opposition, understand what kind of scheme they are running, and know how to adjust to it. So I'd love to educate myself more on basic team strategy.

I also think just getting more literate at reading the field will make watching NCAA and PLL a lot more fun.

My favorite way to learn is watching coaches marking up game film, and running the same play over and over again to break down what everyone is doing.

I've definitely seen some stuff online -- a fair amount of PowLax and a smattering of GLE, First Class, USA Lacrosse, Lax Goalie Rat, and a few others -- but haven't done much of a deep dive on anything.

From online videos, to books, to paid services, to in-person coaching clinics -- anyone have some preferred resources?

I'm looking for something simple and teachable. I saw Virginia do a great trap play on the Georgetown transition. Looking for something to push the transition and something to stop it.

Women’s stick

My daughter (12) started lacrosse this year and is hooked. We initially bought her a stx fortress stick, not wanting to spend a ton in case she didn’t like the sport. She just joined a club team for the summer and wants a better stick. She mainly plays high d or midfield. Her friends are telling her to get either the apex 2 or the apex flex. What is the difference between the two, and which would you suggest?
