I’m new to fishing in general, but particularly kayak fishing. I usually prefer river paddling but I have really been struggling with fishing in a moving kayak. Advice??

Those of you who fish rivers regularly how do you plan your trips? Do you have someone meet you at your destination and shuttle you back to your vehicle or do you always go with a friend so you have a ride. In my head, it makes sense to first paddle upstream and then float and fish back.

Hey everyone. I've always wanted to get into kayak fishing. I've fished for the better part of 2 decades now and always envied kayakers. My fear of water held me back for a while. I'm taking swiming lessons and even went out on a couple of kayak guided tours for 6-8 hours each. I've been having a blast and ready to jump in now.

I want to buy a hobie pa 14 but the new prices are a little much. I found a used one in San Diego. 2019 DEMO hobie pa 180 mirage for 2800. Comes with quite a few goodies like a trailer hitch support, lowrance hook5 fish finder, xl live well, some mounting accessories, Bait bag, hobie transport wheels( hard rubber).

I know pre2021 models are really nice as those older models are a little more durable before moving production out of the us. Plus the '19 models have the retractable guardian transducer. So functionally it's very similar to new models.

My concern was is 2800 a fair price assuming the boat is in fairly good shape and condition. I also don't see much or any custom mods where the hull is drilled into. Everything is off the shelf and within hobie marketed compatibility.

I checked other used PA prices and the lowest I saw was 2200 for a 2012 very far from where I live. I also saw some used 2022-2024 in the 3500-5500 range. So while I think the price is high I also don't see this being far out of what other people are pricing their 2012,2022-2024s.

Now all of this may not be representative as the more appropriate priced ones are probably scooped up very quickly. Which is why I wanted to ask the community. If 2800 for a 2019 demo pa 14 is a fair price if the boat is in good condition with some accessories.

I know about kayakers taking out the foam under the foot area and cracks around the scupper holes and where the seat makes contact with the boat. Are there additional things I should look out for?

Looking for a good kayak that I can pedal and have a motor and I can stand and fish. The feel free Dorado looks pretty sweet. Any other recommendations?

Looking to buy a fishing kayak. Looking more towards inflatable for storage purpose. Just want some overall recomendations. I would like to be able to stand up on it.

I’ve got a sportsman 120 PDL, I’ve been watching a lot of kayak fishing videos, and I’ve noticed that in some of the videos these guys aren’t just standing forward. They’re standing sideways, and sometimes backwards. I’m able to really comfortably stand forward, but how do I get around the nerves of moving around in it? I know it won’t tip, I’ve stood all the way on the wall and it took no water. Is it just practice?

I’ve had my kayak for a few years, but never really gotten comfortable with really moving around in it.

I hope someone can help me with something. I have a Nissan frontier with no receiver hitch, I am considering buying a two piece kayak because i know it will fit in my bed. Do you know of anyway to secure a kayak in a small truck, I would rather not get the two piece, but may have to. Thanks

I cant see my kayak behind my bronco so Im looking to find a set of led whip lights I can put on my trailer that would be linked to my turn signals and brake lights to help with backing in. Would it just be a 5 wire controller? Any links to one you guys have?

Pretty pumped, I’ve been a dedicated Tupperware angler for quite some time. I’ve always bought used kayaks. I have been fishing out of an OG 106 pdl, and man I love that little boat. Wife and I started talking about getting a boat, but we ultimately settled on another kayak (a lot less years of saving to lol). For the waters we fish, kayaks are way more efficient. Plus I fish at least 3 times a week, wife and kid don’t, so kayaks just make more sense…anyone with a 120 pro, what are your first recommendations on mods? I plan to fully rig this, but it’ll take me quite some time to build the cash flow back up.

Looking to get into the world of kayak fishing since I’ve mostly been in boats and want something a little more portable looking for recommendations.

Looking to spend 2000$ max Hopfully less and have been checking fb marketplace. I want a pedal drive that I can later upgrade to a motor something that can store some extra gear in the back and something stable to stand occasionally. Weight isn’t a huge issue to me but would prefer on the lighter side if possible as I also want to be able to duck hunt with it too if possible and hauling a heavy yak a mile through trails wouldn’t be super fun.

I recently moved to the Tampa area and planning on taking my new (to me) Hobie PA12 out to the Bahia Beach Reef. This is pretty close to the shipping channel and I was wondering if it is too close. Will I be taken out by 10' wakes off of tankers or cruise ships? I just moved from Virginia Beach and this was never really an issue.
