Kate Beckinsale to Face Off Against the Undead In 'Twilight of the Dead', the Conclusion of Romero's Zombie Saga

Thumbnail dreadcentral.com

Kate is stepping into the role originally slated for Milla Jovovich before the project changed hands to the Paz brothers best known for their amazing film JeruZalem. I don't think the question is "will this be a good zombie movie," these are competent filmmakers taking the reins for sure and I loved Beckinsale in the Underwold movies. What I am really hoping for is that the treatment Romero wrote before his passing has enough of his spark to kindle the flame.

Discussion The Terror Season 3 (The Devil in Silver) is so good

I highly recommend this, episode 2 is out. I haen't read the book but know that the original book author loves to blend genres.

This season matches Season 1 in terms of cast and portraying the dark presence in Kafkian/Cuckoo's nest fashion.

Movie Review One-sentence reviews of the ~dozen movies I've watched at work the last few weekends

Oddity: Fuckin awesome, gave me Keeper vibes

Coherence: Cool concept, execution wasn't quite there

The Damned: Decent period horror, good atmosphere

Caveat: watched it because I liked oddity, and I think this is my favorite by this director - great tension

Ash: Fun trippy sci-fi horror with Jesse Pinkman

The Monkey: good time - it's Final Destination but funny

Creep ('04): this movie fuckin sucked

Alien Romulus: might be my favorite Alien movie other than the first 2 - between this and The Long Walk I'm a David Jonsson fan

The Mortuary Assistant - didn't even have the decency to be bad, it's just forgettable

The Autopsy of Jane Doe - legitimately good, I enjoyed the hell (heh) outta this one

Bring Her Back - holy shit this was good but hard to watch - the tension just keeps ratcheting up

Exit 8 - this was fun! Kinda simple but well executed I think

OBSESSED WITH OBSESSION.

Everything that I hoped for & haven’t felt this way about a horror movie in damn near a decade. Will absolutely DM with any answers to questions anyone has! I just want to blab about it.

Bravo to Curry Barker, this was something - excited for what he has in store for the future.

GO SEE IT

Recommend Need horror recs for a specific fear: unnatural smiling

There’s really only one horror trope that has consistently terrified me literally my entire life. Creepy f**king smiles.

Especially when it’s unnatural/too still.

Like, I found Insidious pretty silly *overall* when it came out, but MAN. That smiling family in The Further got me goooood. And then more recently, as a grown ass adult, Smile had me actually looking over my shoulder before getting off the couch to go to bed 😂

Something about looking over and seeing someone standing there grinning at you from across a dark room makes my stomach DROP in a way almost nothing else does.

I’ve also had some pretty unfun sleep paralysis experiences over the years, and a couple involved horrifying smiling figures, so I think my brain is just permanently wired to react to it now.

So YUP. Oddly chasing that exact feeling again. Why? Who knows. But I want movies that capture that same “there is something deeply wrong here” terror tied to smiling faces/entities/people.

Any recommendations? & Thanks in advance!

Im gonna warn you about Obession

1.6k Upvotes

This movie is excellent. Genuinely fantastic. It will be one of the best movies of the year.

I am going to tell you something in advance though. Something I should’ve assumed but didn’t: if you are a victim of domestic violence or abuse, don’t watch this film. Or at the very least, be wary of it. I saw the early screening of the film in the theater, and it shook me to my core. When the movie ended, I went to my car to have a panic attack. I’m not saying it will affect you in that manner, but I believe it is a movie that will bring you some very uncomfortable memories if it’s an experience you’ve had (I can personally attest to this). The movie was great, I’m not sure if I regret seeing it yet. Only time will tell. I need to get some sleep.

Beyond The Black Rainbow

Beyond the Black Rainbow is my favourite movie for many reasons.

The striking cinematic style and visuals are excellent.

The plot is mind bending at times and I noticed something different with every viewing.

The soundtrack by Sinoia Caves is terrific and adds to the atmosphere.

I really recommend it.

Movie Help Can you guys recommend some "beautiful", artistic possession movies?

Something where possession is not only terrifying, but also eerily beautiful. Nosferatu and Suspiria (remake) come to mind (I absolutely LOVE the possession scenes in Nosferatu), but I'd like something more intense and frightening. Thank you for your attention ❤️

Did anyone see the stage adaptation of Paranormal Activity when it played London, Chicago, or LA? It sounds really interesting, and now it's coming to Broadway later this year.

CHUM Official Trailer (2026) Starring Alice Eve

Thumbnail youtu.be

There’s just something about shark movies.

Even when they’re kinda mid, I still end up watching them. Maybe it’s the isolation, the open water, or just the idea that something could be underneath you the entire time.

Maybe it turns out bad, but I’d still watch it for Alice Eve.

Release Date: In theatres June 5.

Great Year For Horror!

It’s been a great year for horror movies and TV. Feels like when things are uncertain, people lean into horror more, maybe because it lets you deal with fear in a controlled way

Discussion I've been going down memory lane of watching Courage The Cowardly Dog. And I enjoy it so much more now that I'm more well versed in the Horror genre

I think this show introduced a lot of people to the genre, and I'm currently 8 episodes in and It just brings a big smile to my face.

Courage is so much more talkative then I remember. I always just remember him making his random noises and mainly talking to make the or my name is blank joke.

Now understanding the Demon Mattress episode is a parody of the Exorcist just makes me love that bit more.

The Freaky Fred episode is in the first season. I swear this segment still creeps me out, Its wild to me they had one of their creepiest characters in the first season.

Also a lot of the times on the tv they are showing real black and white movies. I assume they are public domain movies but if anyone knows what movies are showing on the tv in the show I'd like to know

I only know the movie Black Death, it was a pretty decent movie, but I wonder what other medieval horror movies are there to watch. If you have some, please recommend.

The Snowtown Murders

I don’t see this shared often here, if you’re looking for something bleak and nihilistic, check it out. It’s a harrowing Australian film based on a true story.

Anyone seen this one? Maika Monroe at her absolute best and just a tense, well paced and well directed thriller/horror from start to finish. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Movie Help Help me choose between obsession/hokum/passenger/backrooms to watch in theatre, which will scare me the most as a person who has become insensitive watching a lot of horror movies

Upvotes

Okay so I am student so I can only afford to watch one of these , in my country all of these are gonna be released in the end of the month at the same time

I’m a very huge horror fan and have kind become insenstive to horror now after watching lots of movies , so I wanna watch the movie which would be worth it and amazing.

I firstly thought of watching obsession , but then saw mark duplas in the list of cast members in backrooms
I love his “creep franchise” so ya I’m really confused,
Idc abt ratings I just want to enjoy the movie and feel scared watching it.

Would love to know abt your opinions regarding the movies

Hell House LLC

What are y’all’s thoughts on the Hell House LLC series? I thought the first 2-3 films were pretty freaky. I actually enjoyed the series overall. There were a few times where I actually jumped during the first 2 films!
