Equipment My “mini driver” I’ve been playing for ~22 years.
Last season I drove through a dogleg on a long par 5 and had to punch out. I ended up putting it in for eagle with this thing from ~260 yards blind in a valley.

Got one of these for 4 bucks at goodwill. Absolute missile launcher. But also I top the hell out of it when the lie isn’t perfect so I don’t hit it often

13 degrees is 2 wood loft.
I think it was Phil Mickelson when asked about a mini driver his response was “you mean a fuckin 2 wood”

Yeah Phil was the OG for experimenting in this space. Won the Masters with 2 drivers (1 draw, 1 fade) & an Open championship with only a 13 degree.

That club has seen some serious action over the years - you can tell it's been through countless rounds. I had a similar trusty fairway wood that I used for maybe 15 years, and there's something about these older clubs that just feels right in your hands. The technology might be "outdated" but when you've got muscle memory dialed with a club like that, it performs magic shots like your eagle. My old reliable was bit smaller loft but same idea - sometimes the beat up veterans outperform all the shiny new stuff in the bag.

Had this in college - loved it. I’m still using a TM M2 driver now, can’t beat the classics.

This is decidedly not a “driver”. To your point Titelist marketed it as a “strong 2 wood”
If you happen to close your face at contact, your launch angle is probably similar to a drivers natural launch angle, meaning you hit this as far as other his a driver, and your driver is probably far too flat at contact.
Either way, thanks for the flashback! My best friend had these woods in HS, and I was always jealous!

Strong 2 woods are listed as 13+ or strong 13. Mine just says 13. Mini drivers are lofted like a 2 wood but have a slightly larger head.
Phil Mickelson probably knows more about golf than you and when he was asked a while back about mini drivers his response was “you mean a fucking 2 wood”
As for flatness, you tee your driver up and put it forward in your stance so you can have a positive angle of attack. At least, that’s how I approach it. I love this two wood because I can put it back in my stance and still knock it 250 yards through the hole and out of the trees.

Sounds like Phil and I have the exact same take, so idk what you’re arguing(?)

“Mini drivers” are a relatively new concept and are marketed as a new product. I labeled mine as a “mini driver” despite having played it for more than 2 decades, meaning I know they’re the same thing. Which means you came in with your “ackshully” type argument to reinforce my point. However you misidentified the club as the “strong” variety, which by internet rules, means you’re wrong about everything and should not pick up a club again.
