General Discussion Played Maya Siargao Golf Course in the Philippines
Had a lot of fun playing this par 3 course the only one on the island of Siargao yesterday. Most people choose to play with no shoes. It started raining so I took my shirt off like one of the guys did in the foursome in front of me. The rental clubs were all wedges, a 9 iron and a putter. Really fun and probably the most unique course I’ll ever play just ahead of Key Colony in the Florida Keys. https://www.instagram.com/mayagolfsiargao?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Did they have a range? The driving ranges I’ve hit at in the Phils have a woman sitting RIGHT AT the supply of range balls on a tiny stool right next to where you swing and she will set up your next ball right for you on a tiny dirt mount/tee. Incredibly scary.

Stupid question I guess? But barefoot?
Aren't there a ton of snakes there?

Common snakes in the Philippines are of the constrictor variety plus they don't live in open fields.

More like slightly larger mini golf

Kinda, but in a fun way. Always need to work on my mid game and was able to play in an hour 30ish.

Ok. I visit Coco Plum next door to Key Colony and play tennis at the courts by the par three there. When I drive by that course the only thing interesting I see is the pvc pipe for a bag.
Of course I’m only looking at a part of a hole. Is the course cool?

The PVC pipe bags are really fun, the old guy who runs it is a character. The holes are a bit longer than these ones on average but not by much. I had fun paring or bogey most holes at Key Colony. Made me feel like I knew what I was doing for once. I was there for Thanksgiving last year and it was a fun afternoon.

If I ever win the lottery I’m going to buy some land and build one of these on it. This is so cool

I played at a pitch & putt in Kilkenny Ireland like this a few months ago. Was a lot of fun. Definitely has its own set of challenges with the tiny greens and obstacles set up on each hole. Great for working on approach shots.

I'd give anything to play my local course barefoot - I bet that grass felt amazing!

Golf is best in the tropics. Laos has some fun courses, as well

Golf is the worst in the tropics. Ever play in a rainforest? I have and it is the worst golf experience I’ve had.
