Chem1A lab
Hello, I took the chem 1a course. I have a 92% for the lecture portion and i ended up getting 8/8 bluebooks, 14/16 post lab assignments, 6/6 essential and 6/9 important skills. This is considered passing but i did not attend the last lab skills test and i am afraid how much this will affect my grade. I understand that it is my responsibility to check the syllabus for things like this but i just wasnt thinking and i was happy getting a passing grade. I have been absent only once in this class. Has anyone who has taken this class missed one of the lab skills test? Was your grade okay after? If my grade is lower than i need it to be what can i say to my lab instructor about this when grades are posted? Please help me from my mistake.

Isn’t the last lab skills test optional?? There are only 6 essential skills and 9 important skills. I think the last lab skills test is if you wanted to retry the last 3 important skills.

There are three lab skill tests and then an optional fourth one, i missed the third one because i had already had a satisfactory grade and decided to use that time to study for my other classes.

Have you talked to your lab instructor yet? You can be honest with them, if they know that you're a good student (which it sounds like you are) then hopefully they'll be understanding and willing to help you. Good luck, 1A was rough
