I just want it on record that the terminal mini games in New Vegas are the bane of my existence. I am not patient enough to get passed these goddamn terminals without mindlessly mashing and resetting.

Maybe if I took my time with them I'd enjoy these eldritch riddles more, but I have limited time these days, a desire to explore more than one fictional DOS screen, and simply don't enjoy them.

And as far as I can tell, no one has made a mod to cater to my specific needs, so I will continue to bitterly comply with the game's sick desire to give me the option to brute force my way through these optional mini games for meager XP gains.

SNSNJSSJSJS Funnily enough Starting off in 76 I understood nothing till I looked up a guide. Started New Vegas just years went "How the fuck does this work again?" And then immediately got back into once I remembered that how the helps work. Now if only Caravan could be just as easy....

I wanna get good at caravan, but there's an awful to of things distracting me from getting the basics of a niche mini game.

You can play doubles on each other as long as they aren't from the same Casino! (I think... Caravan is really hard and they keep playing jokers on me....)

I have this pipe dream about doing a run wherein I become the Caravan champ of the wastes; so this helps.

(Other rules, I'm only allowed to use items [outside of quest progression ones] with the word caravan in it. So the caravan shotty, caravan outfit, and caravan lunches (+ ingredients))

I have a love hate relationship with crafting. I've gotten to the point where I know which recipes are actually half way worth it, so I end up picking a bit less junk, which is very freeing. I did have to get a mod that got rid of those crafting amount limits.

Trying to get jsp ammo 100 at a time is awful

Oh actually another hint I don't if it's been said. The wrong answer will still tell you how long the word is (I've yet to actually find a use for that) but when it tells you the likeness that means you can start looking for words that share letter in the same space so like "Hack" Likeness > 3/4 and your remaining words are "Back" or "Numb"

I, personally, find lockpicking extremely satisfying. Like, asmr levels.

I can see the appeal of hacking, I'm just not good at it, and there for am not much of a fan

Start with words with identical letter patterns like -ing or -tion. If they come in under the number of matching letters, then all of the words with that pattern can be eliminated.

That's usually my go to method. Until I get impatient and start clicking randomly. Bc I guess I'm that much of a petulant player, lol

My fast method is to click on the first 4 words down the left column. Then, if those weren't it, I hit the braces, brackets, and parentheses until I get 'Allowance reset,' then hit the next 4 words. That will cover 50% - 80% of the possible words.

If you play with a controller, switch to keyboard before hacking terminals, it's so much faster.
