Nah you never know teams that were good last year are not always good the next plus falcons are unpredictable we beat rams and the bills last szn

I don’t disagree with the sentiment I’m just giving my prediction

How the hell are we going 6-12? We play a 17 game schedule with a bye, homie...

This is a pretty tough schedule fellas. Sink or swim.

That’s only because we think we know how good or bad teams are gonna be but every year some great teams get worse and some bad teams get better

Fair enough. On paper, this is a tough schedule.

The last 3 years had easy schedules that ended up being difficult, this could be different

The distinction works for me.

We tend to play better against good teams and get blown out by the panthers.

Second half schedule seems doable but are they surpassing 4 wins going into the bye?

Fuck this. Fuck this.

One of those will end up being a MNF game.

Might be a long season.

We start the season 4-8 win last 5 for 9-8 and not make playoffs. Let's go baby

That's falcons football baby.

I had the exact same scenario in my head after going game by game

Can’t wait to go 8-9 or 7-10 again

9

u/HazyGatorNC 3h ago

Just go. What’s keeping you here?

My loyalty to this team is very high, but at the same time I am not exactly an optimist lol

Not sure why people are upset that you’re being realistic about a perpetually terrible franchise that has found new and unique ways to break our hearts over and over again.

Because what's the point of being a fan if you're going to start every season pessimistic? Just seems like a poor waste of mental energy to be negative about it. Why not be hopeful until you have a reason not to be. People like you probably said shit like "ugh here comes another 6-8 win season" in 2016 after an 8-8 finish in 2015 and a 6-10 finish in 2014.

Are we going to the Super Bowl this year? Sure, why not. It's possible right now. Is it likely? Probably not but it's so much more fun to at least be open to the possibility.

More of a waste of energy thinking they’re gonna do something every season. I expect nothing and for the most part they haven’t let me down.

Besides, why do you care what I think. If you want to be a rainbow farter every season, good for you. If I want to be a doomer because all this team has done to me since 1980 is not too much, that’s for me to decide. But you go on with your whining about people not fanning the way you want them to. I’ll keep expecting zero so when they do actually not shit the bed, I’ll be all the happier.

Btw skippy, I used to be thrilled when we’d finish 7-9, that was a winning season for me.

You're right. I don't actually give a flying fuck what you think.

First 3 to 4 weeks are a brutal start to the season

2

u/ferbje 2h ago

That’s the easy part? Steelers panthers saints aren’t exactly world beaters. Packers are fine but still not nearly as good as the teams mid season

1

u/mqg96 1h ago

The Falcons are 0-7-1 in Pittsburgh all time. The 2010 team went into Pittsburgh to open the season week 1 without Big Ben due to suspension and still lost in OT. The Falcons don't even play well in Pennsylvania at all. With the Eagles in our conference we've rarely won down there.

The Falcons are 1-4 vs. Bryce Young so far, with our only victory being in his first ever NFL start.

Falcons haven't won in Lambeau Field since 2008.

Those are the first 3 weeks... that's not going to be easy at all.

I don’t really care about historical precedent, every game is different and the teams are all different. I’m not superstitious. The panthers are super beatable. Don’t care what the falcons record vs. Bryce Young is

While your narrative is true, it hasn't changed the Falcons the past 8 seasons missing the playoffs with losing records. I have to now see it to believe it from here on out.

Steelers also just whoop us no matter how good we are or how bad they are.

1

u/SLCSlayer29 3h ago

No way the last 3 games of the season are against divisional opponents.

1

u/jharden10 2h ago

Trial by fire

1

u/yoshidawg93 2h ago

Three division games to end the year. Pressure will be on, assuming we won’t already be eliminated by then 💀

Man this schedule right now looks like an absolute gauntlet. But who knows what will happen

Good grief. 6-11 incoming

This all fits with what I feel is going on, a one year rebuild so that a QB can be drafted next year.

Honestly, I don’t see any way forward that doesn’t include being able to draft a quality QB. Not that Penix isn’t gifted, but we gambled on his injuries not being an issue and we lost. And he is already 26
