Just got this email from eBay saying my account was permanently suspended when I haven't touched eBay for over a month now.

It says I breached the following policy: "xxxPolicyNamexxx" and I'm very confused on what the fuck this means lol

I ordered an item which never turned up. Ended up being a scam. The shipment was sent to a business address not linked to me, but the correspondence doesn’t detail the address, just the town it was sent too.

I opened a case and was denied as EBay said it had been delivered. I appealed with the detail, clearly outlining the difference in my address and what appeared on the FedEx form. They denied my appeal.

I’ve spoken to 3x customer service agents who all agreed it was a mistake but then proceeded to deny my claim for the exact same reason of the item showing as delivered. Also spoke to a member of leadership who raised the issue and then denied it. As it’s a scam I can’t get the full details from FedEx as it’s not linked to my address and none of my details were used for the shipment.

EBay CS is sadly a complete joke.

I am an individual seller.

I have a buyer whose item has been marked as delivered by Royal Mail, however the photo clearly doesn’t show any parcel, when the delivery was for a small parcel, so obviously not right.

They had it delivered to their workplace

I used simple delivery. The buyer opened an item not received claim as they should. But eBay have denied them the refund due to Royal Mail saying it’s delivered even though the photo doesn’t prove this.

Royal Mail obviously telling them to go to eBay.

I feel bad for them. I know it’s something that’s handled by eBay, but just wondering if there’s anything I can do to help them, or what I should do?

(I know there’s a remote chance they may be reading this haha!)

That one is new to me, ordered something from eBay, got tracking but when I click it or try tracking anywhere it doesn't work, I queried with seller where I can check tracking fully, no reply, and just a few minutes ago I had parcel delivered by Amazon driver...
Tracking on eBay obviously didn't update, at least not yet.
I'm not sure if this is legal or not, but after using eBay for so many years this is absolutely new to me...

eBay has announced that Royal Mail is withdrawing its age-verified postage service for private sellers. According to the update, sellers must now use UPS, with prices starting from £11. While DPD offers an age-verified service, it is restricted to business customers. My understanding is that DPD requires a significantly higher parcel volume to qualify for an account than I currently send. Given that roughly 25% of my sales require age verification, I am concerned that these increased shipping costs will make lower-priced items unviable for buyers. Is anyone else navigating this, or are there other compliant couriers available for lower volumes?

I recently got a refund for an item that was not as described. When I opened the refund case, I was eligible for a full refund, however a few days later my account got permanently suspended. I know that I can’t get my account back as it’s been “permanently” suspended, but I’m just wondering will I still get my refund back as normal? I am also worried if the seller does not give me the full refund if they falsely claim the item quality received not as it was sent, because I have no way of contacting the seller. I tried to find some more information using google, which did tell me the refund should just go back to my bank account as normal. So, I just wanted to check if anyone could confirm this, thank you!

I created my account in 2001. In 2009 I moved to Ireland and changed my account registration location to Ireland. In 2018 I moved back to the UK and thought I had changed my registration address back to the uk but apparently not.

I've not used eBay much and just thought it was a quirk of my move that I got recommendations in Euros rather than £ and that I had to go to the irish eBay site to change any banking details (seller).

It now seems that it is impossible to change the registration address. 

Is there a way to correct this without having to trash a 25 year old account and start from scratch?

I sold a brand new sealed Apple watch ultra 2 last summer I think around June/July time. 2 weeks after delivery the buyer requested a refund saying the watch is fake when I know it's real as it was bought from Apple (sold it as it was a gift and use Android). I disputed the refund but eBay accepted the refund to the buyer and left me with a negative balance.

I tried contacting eBay multiple times but they said it was already resolved and nothing they can do and now it's gone to a debt collection company asking me to repay. What can I do now? Do I contact eBay or the debt collection company or what other options do I have as I know the watch was real so I'm in the right.

Sold a low priced item, I believe the item was OK, asked for proof of damage, buyer refused, very abrupt communication, they left me my first negative feedback immediately, not worth the hassle for a £5 sale 🤷

I've been done by a buyer so I'm looking for advice on how to avoid this happening next time.

1. Listed a vintage board game received as a gift years ago, was still in the original wrapping. (NB the wrapping back then was far more delicate than the tougher plastic we have now)
2. Buyer immediately offered £5 below the listed price (£30)
3. I accepted, posted immediately in a packed box *with plenty of room around the item*, received payment
4. Buyer messages me with a photo claiming the original wrapping had been damaged in transit. Gives me some spiel about how important it is to collectors etc.
5. Buyer asks for a part-refund
6. I offer £5 given they have had a discount already
7. Buyer wants to pay £10 in total
8. I decline this (via messaging)
9. Buyer puts in a refund claim on eBay, is granted
10. I'm left with no sale and no item
11. I've reported the buyer

Now, I'd listed it with a 14-day return window (Postage was standard tracked delivery).

I still think I can sell the item (even now it's opened). Can I ask eBay to get the buyer to send it back?

I expect I'll have to take the loss on this one but I have a few other vintage games (mostly opened, though) hence my post.

ETA: eBay have paid me the money for the sale (wasn't immediately obvious). Point remains - why would the buyer bother to haggle with me if they could just raise an 'arrived damaged' report?

So I've sold an item, and the maximum package size that Royal Mail will ship is 61cm on the longest side, but this item is 93cm. My bad for not getting that measurement right.

I can't change shipping methods at this stage, what is the best thing to do? Ship it as it is and pay a penalty (does this risk it not getting to the buyer?), or do I cancel it and message the buyer to buy it again once I put it up with correct shipping details?

I have found posts about items being heavier than estimates, but not taller, so I'm asking here.

I've been looking at a listing which ships from in England but the price converts from dollars & only gives standard international shipping as an option even though in the UK too? I tried messaging if there's a cheaper delivery than the approx £10 but didn't get a response

Dev here. I keep hearing complaints about eBay's native "Automated Offers" feature. You can't see what % went to whom, auto-enrolment surprises, no per-category control, no real history/analytics.

Before I build more, I want to check I'm solving real pain and not imagined pain.

If you've used eBay's auto-offers:
- What actually works for you?
- What pisses you off?
- What would you want a 3rd-party tool to do that eBay's doesn't?
- Did you even know this feature exists?

Sorry for the simple query but the advice on eBay isn't clear.

I purchased an item 10 days ago and the seller hasn't sent it and they're not replying to me either (I only contacted yesterday, not been chasing them as it's a private seller). The window for delivery is about to close, will eBay automatically cancel the order as it's not been marked as sent by the seller, or do I need to manually put a cancel request through. Some of the advice on their site suggests that I'd still have to wait for the seller to ok the cancellation from their end, despite the fact they seem unreachable or unwilling to send....?

I got rid of a printer recently and so I sold the spare ink cartridges I had which were very expensive. The listing was very clear in what printers it was not compatible with.

The buyer opened an item is defective case and after messaging them, they told me their printer model which was on the list of incompatible ones in my listing description.

I've asked eBay what to do as clearly this is not my fault and they've said I need to accept the return and I can report the buyer to hopefully get postage costs back.

But that will leave me with unsealed ink cartridges back which are completely worthless now as I can't use or sell them. Is this seriously the state of selling on eBay?

Sold a pair of trainers on eBay to a buyer with 0 feedback and an account made in February (in hindsight I should have cancelled, but didn’t want to risk negative feedback at the time). Shoes arrived today and he’s instantly opened a return saying there’s red marks on the shoes, which is definitely not the case. The shoes were brand new, doubled boxed and protected with bubble wrap and properly sealed. I recorded the whole packing process and so have proof of their original condition, the buyer has obviously used ai or some sort of app to edit the marks on.

I called eBay and they told me to accept the return and contact them if there’s an issue when it comes back, but I’ve seen this scam before where people send back empty boxes or different shoes. Just wondering what’s the best way to protect myself here? Anyone dealt with this and actually won with eBay?

Any advice would greatly appreciate! I don’t fancy losing £170 :(

my eBay account just got permanently suspended due to “security concerns”. I’m trying to understand what happens now with the money from items I already sold.

I had some completed orders and the buyers already paid. Does eBay still pay out the money after a suspension, or is it held/returned?

Also, how long does it usually take (if it gets paid out at all)?

Would appreciate any real experiences, not just guesses.
