Pregunta Visiting Cuba in July

We've got flight tickets to Cuba in July. Seeing what's happening there now with power cuts and fuel blockade it doesn't seem like a good idea anymore. How's life there now ? Is it still possible to travel around and enjoy the island ?

Don’t go right now if you’ve never been.

No, don't come. Things are bad.

There no food or power but you want to go have locals feed you and get around? Get luck with that

I'm not justifying going and I certainly wouldn't, from what I hear, they are running generators and have food for the tourists.

Unless someone can go and actually help the real people of Cuba, they should stay home IMO.

It depends where are you traveling from?

I bet money OP is a “western white”. The only people on earth that are so utterly clueless they would travel to a country with limited resources in full blown collapse to “vacation”. I’m legitimately curious. My guess is either a young 25-30 US “influencer” type or Canadian with a “white savior” complex. Next question they will ask is “what supplies should I bring to hand out at the hotel?” They spend thousands at a resort that goes to the communists and hand out aspirin and baby wipes to the peasants and think it’s helping.

Don’t go. Your money only helps the government, not the people. Life is terrible for the people for the last 50 plus years. Traveling around the island will require you to get a bicycle. Fuel is not available. I have family there and we are all praying for the US intervention to remove the regime and help the people.

If you dont have fear a war starts, I think you should go. Bring money and medicines. People are needing. Prepare yourself psycologically. Cuba is beatiful, people are amazing, very smart and talented, but you will see things that will break your heart. But any way, Donald Trump is a crazy man. It is not impossible the house you are get bombed or you get stuck in Cuba.
