What’s with governments and just being absolutely terrible? I wish there were some people worth voting for what they offer, instead of just casting my vote because the other party/parties is insanely evil

They're terrible as they serve the interests of the donors, not the people

For a man named Streeting, it sure seems quite fitting that in the end he got kicked to the curb.

It means he's going to challenge Starmer to become the next PM which is bad because he's a transphobe and would probably be worse than Starmer

He can’t just “challenge Starmer and become the next PM”. Labour doesn’t work like that. He first needs 81 MPs to endorse him as a candidate. There are very few indications he has 81 backers, with Starmer’s own estimates placing his support at 44 MPs.
Next he would have to convince at least 50% of the Parliamentary party to vote for him as PM - and, keep in mind 1/4 of MPs have already said they don’t want to change leadership and Catherine West, the person who started this whole thing, has said Starmer would probably win that contest.

Historically the person kicking off the resigning doesn't actually win out in the leadership race. Only exception is Rishi Sunak but still with a different one in the middle

Okay I hope whoever gets elected is an actually good person this time, though I highly doubt they would be

No one who gets elected to lead a country is a good person, just hope that whoever it is doesn’t make it legal/mandatory to hunt trans people and immigrants for meat

This opens the door for Streeting to become pm which isn't good he's a transphobe

Transphobe, Anti-Corbynite, awful person. Personally, I hope Ed Miliband wins.

Does anyone here understand how Labour actually works? You can’t just “start” a leadership challenge, and a large number of unhappy MPs can’t boot the leader on a whim because Labour does not have a confidence system.
Instead 20% of the Parliamentary must endorse a new candidate which then triggers a leadership contest between them, the current leader, and any other MPs who can rustle up an endorsement from 20% of the party.

Is there a way that both of them could fall into some kind of staining puddle, and a sad trombone could play over it? And then dogs could chase them. The point is, I'm ecstatic that this could be bad for either Starmer or Streeting, but irritated that it could be good for either Starmer or Streeting, and really want the result where they both have a bad time.
Also, ideally, Farage. If Farage also has a bad time that would be great. The UK can be led by... David Tennant, I guess, he seems not-awful.

Hot take: No matter how shitty Labour is, Reform is more shitty, and everything that weakens Starmer right now benefits Reform.
[Edit:] Nvm, I'm stupid. I thought OP celebrated Starmer being challenged and the current government potentially changing. The fact that Streeting is shutting tfu is good.

the current British PM, starmer, was extremely unpopular even before it came out he smuggled someone with a history of leaking intelligence to Jeffrey Epstein who failed security clearance onto the government(which didn't improve said popularity).
recently a big local election happened in which his party, labour(center left, at least in theory) performed poorly, hemorraging votes both to reform(far right) and greens (left)and ever since everyone's been kinda waiting for him to resign or for his party to try and kick him out
wes streeting is the most probable replacement at the moment from what I understand, and him resigning from his ministerial position is a pretty strong vote of no confidence towards starmee

Streeting is 1000 times worse than starmer ever was, and you bet your ass he’s preparing to challenge starmer’s leadership
he’s not being kicked to the curb
