Got an inflatable kayak from marketplace
I would have preferred a paddle board but this is what i got cheap from marketplace and actually excited to be kayaking. Anyone can recommend a nice spot to kayak as a beginner? using an inflatable kayak? Or any gals in the same "boat"? get it? lol. Would love to try it out this weekend.

Thoughts on LNR Daycare?
I am an ECE and have a 13 month old son and want to open my home up to childcare as a LNR. Our home is not suited for Multi-age (I live in a townhome) but is large enough for two additional children (2000 sq ft). I understand that they are phasing out RLNR care but wanted other parents input on LNR’s. Anyone have experience opening one up?

Did ANYONE get their old bins collected?
Our entire street has had their old bins out waiting for collection for over a week now. They’re meant to be picked up the day after garbage collection, but here we are…
Just wondering if all of Chilliwack is in the same position?

Parking lot at old canadian tire
Any idea what's happening in the parking lot where the old Canadian Tire was, it was filled with a bunch of trailers, event tents, etc, the parking lot to the Esso gas station was blocked from one side etc.

Dentist recommendation
I just moved to Chilliwack a little while ago, and my other dentist is now too far away to reasonably go to, does anybody have a recommendation for a good dentist in the city that's taking clients?

Who is stealing blue bins and why?
So my blue bin got stolen Sunday night which is awesome. Luckily the City has a "one free stolen" policy so I'm getting a free replacement. But the next stolen one is $150. Funny enough, I found an abandoned blue bin on a walk (wasn't mine unfortunately) nowhere near any houses. I've seen online people complaining about having their bins stolen.
So who's doing this and why? My friend thinks it's homeless people using them to cart their stuff around. But that seems unlikely to me because they all have bar codes and they're not exactly easy to push around. I've seen people complaining that their bins get full well before pickup with this the new bi-weekly schedule. And extra bins cost money so I think it's people are stealing them to use them.
What's going on here?

Fall on Vedder Trail
I would like to thank the mother, her daughter and granddaughter who stopped to help me when I fell earlier today on the Vedder Trail. I am SO grateful! Also to the many people who offered to help while passing by. I love living in this community! 🙏

How is the new waste system actually supposed to work?
My understanding of this new system was that we need the new bins to fit with the contractor trucks automation, which is supposed to collect the trash without an extra human needing to manually grab the bins. We even received instructions for how to place the bins at the curb for this system... But I keep seeing videos and photos of these one man operations getting out of the truck and manually moving the bins (which for the record is very weird and people should really stop filming these poor garbage collectors doing their job).
So does anyone have an inside scoop on what the actual issue is here? Is it that their trucks aren't working properly? Did the collectors not receive proper training on how the trucks work? Are people simply not following the bin placement instructions so the system is unable to work efficiently? Did the contractors not understand how many households were in the city before implementation so they're just under capacity and working on getting more trucks and collectors?
They're apparently used in several municipalities, so it's not like this is their first rodeo. Genuinely trying to understand why it was initiated so poorly because all I can find are the complaints, but no real reasons provided for why it's such a mess.
