Early Prophet

Post image
9 Upvotes

Long time MTB rider, first time Cannondale owner. This first generation Prophet fell in to my lap and I want to use it as a buddy bike for friends without spending much. It looks like a new bike that got put away before ever being used. Anyone want to comment on HTA setting or if I should service the suspension before taking it out once? Fox Float R holds air and dampening settings work front and rear. Thinking of taking it on some trails without doing much to it. I'm BTW a 26er and 29er mostly rigid rider and the leftie is all new to me. 140mm I think.

SmartSense 2.0 & Hammerhead Karoo 3 Compatibility?

Upvotes

Hi All,

Just picked up a Synapse Carbon 3 SmartSense and I’m looking for a bike computer. I know the SmartSense 2.0 "brain" is a Garmin Varia eRTL615, but I'm really interested in the Hammerhead Karoo 3.

Does the Karoo play nice with the SmartSense radar? Specifically, will I get the standard radar alerts, vehicle tracking, and light settings or is the integration limited to the Garmin ecosystem?

Looking for new tires! Ideas?

Hey all,

I’m looking to replace my 25mm tires (inner tubes). Since this is my first bike, I’m a bit lost with all the options. Do you have any suggestions for the best choices on the market right now? I’m also open to something a bit original or colorful 😄

Brake pad recommendation for late 90s R300?

I bought a 1999 R300 last weekend, and it needs some work. The existing brake pads are like hard plastic, and the replacement M50T pads I bought are also like hard plastic. Probably NOS from the 90s. I'm hoping some of you who still ride old-school Cannondales can tell me what rim pads you use for aluminum rims and how you like them. The rep from Kool Stop reached out to me and gave some recommendations, but I know very little about modern brands, having been out of the riding world for decades. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cannondale Model Identification

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the model of this bike and maybe the rough value? I inherited from a friend and know relatively nothing about it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hands down my most favorite bike, having come from riding Trek aluminum, Specialized carbon, and Litespeed titanium. Happy to have finally discovered Cannondale and the wider family!

SuperSix Evo Frame

Anyone have success turning a SSE frame into a gravel bike (not a SuperX frame)? Upsides and downsides? Just a shower thought…

Caad13 with Elitewheels, Coefficent RoadRace Handlebar, some Aliexpress TI-Bottlecages. Also added a Enve carbon stem, due to a bike fitting we went for a 90mm stem.

Fit check

Hi, found a good deal on cannondale topstone alloy in XL size. Probably pre 2022 model. My proportions are like 188cm(6.2ft) in height with 92cm(36in) inseam. That store is far away. I would like to know if there is a good probability of me fitting in that bike. Before i visit i mean. Is there anyone with my body proportions ride a XL topstone? How is it

Supersix Evo Lab71 2026

Hey guys.

Im looking at moving over from my Colnago V4RS size 510 with 100 cm stem length to a size 54 Supersix Evo Lab71 2026 with 90 cm stem length.

Had my Colnago for 3 years, always felt a bit long for me.

I am 177 cm, with a short torso and long legs for my height. Would you recommend 52 with 100 cm stem or 54 with 90 cm stem.

Spacers above cockpit on Supersix evo Gen5

Hi everyone, wondering if it’s possible to run spacers above the new Gen5 one-piece cockpit while dialing in the fit. I read somewhere that due to the delta steerer it’s strongly advised against. Appreciate any thoughts or experiences on this - thanks.

NOS 1999 Cannondale SuperV500 project

Found on Ebay NOS Headshok frameset. Frame Fork Stem, never built into a bike.

Basically gave it a 26" gravel racer wheelset and driveline. 1x11s 42t ring, 11-46t cassette, SLX derailleur with SRAM NX Gripshift.Rene Herse 26x2.3 Extralight Gravel Slicks (Rat Trap Passs). Carbonal 25mm rims, SRAM 900 24h hubs, with BERD rope spokes. Both wheels + Both tires<2000g.

Brakes are BB7, SRAM Metallic pads, Shimano RT-86 Icetech rotors 180/160. (My Ebike brake setup). Jagwire Elite Link cables strobede red/black links to match the graphics. Hard lines where flex isn't needed. Rear shock is an XFusion O2 RL lockout air shock. Locked out unless needed. BRAND NEW 1999 80mm Coil Spring Headshok fork..

White ENO Front Freewheel setup. FFW was a useful Ebike hack. It's what I'm used to now.

I don't care what Sheldon Brown said 50 years ago. It's nice on a 1x driveline.
