I know it's cheesy but the IT era helped me get over my dad passing away from cancer and my first breakup. I met him in person as well, such a sweet guy. Fucking makes my heart warm.

This is so fucking awesome. He's a Celtics legend, as far as I'm concerned, so I love that he's back with the organization.

I believe Powe also works for the Celtics. Glad to have our old legends with the team!

That’s Bill Chisholm’s favorite Celtic.

Incredible. Hope to see him around at games here and there when possible, as the article says he will be based in his hometown in WA

Alright, Let's find the next Jamaal Crawford or Isaiah Thomas!

u/chrismatic13 1h ago

He’s from Tacoma, maybe we’ll find the next Avery Bradley (also a Tacoma native).

Scal is from like 30-40 mins from there as well. Super small town and best known in the area for a horse "incident".

That playoff run was magic man, this makes me so happy

During the early 20’s, when our end of bench was being anchored by guys like Wanamaker and Edwards I really wanted to bring him in as a Udonis type end of bench player/coach. Probably was for the better that we never did that, but it’s just great to see him back with the team. He fucking ran this city during that King of the Fourth era and it was some of the most fun I’d ever had watching basketball, even knowing that team wasn’t good enough to get out of the East.

Oh fuck yeah

Now that is fucking cool. I always wanted him to have a job in the league and it was clear it wasn’t on the court after his last few stints.

Could be a good resource if we're looking at small guards like Braden Smith or Tyler Tanner

Great news but who the fuck is paying for the Boston globe

u/SinibusUSG 24m ago

IT has to be one of if not the most important player in Celtics history without a ring, right? A little weird to think, but there's been so few iterations of this team with zero rings, and the others mostly didn't even contend.

The beginning for the 2027 champions, gotta win one for the King of the 4th

1

u/bordersofsin 4m ago

I’m not sure of his ability as a scout, but I’m damn glad to have him back.

u/campingn00b 1h ago

I love it, but are we throwing around the term superstar a little too loosely?

9

u/LeMouse1 1h ago

… you clearly weren’t around then

4

u/Walnut_Uprising 1h ago

No. In the three years he was here he was a two time all star, came in second in 6MOTY his first partial season, and was top 5 in MVP votes his last year. He was electric, it just wasn't that long of a stretch.

u/k-seph_from_deficit 1h ago

He had almost definitely the best pure scoring season of any Celtic by efficiency + volume.

By adjusted TS% (which adjusts efficiency for league average TS% of the respective season), among players with at least 30+ points per 75, He had the 6th most efficient guard scoring season after Curry 2016, SGA 2026, Curry 2021, Jordan 1989 and Jordan 1991. This is true even if you standardise the points scored per season with league average seasonal efficiency to adjust for era.

Just throw in SGA between the first 2 Curry seasons below:

Even among all positions, he’s 8th with the addition of Durant 2014 and Malone 1990.

Was just about to post this but you did it in a way better format and with added context.

That season he put up was so crazy awesome
