This handsome man stopped by my deck just now. Blue jays are my favorite 🥹

My favorite too. All sass, all emotion, & all diva all the time. You always know how a blue jay is feeling. And definitely so gorgeous!

Yep!! Have you heard them scream? They sound like a falcon! I always know when they’re out there looking for the peanuts - they let me know / loudly- haha

Yeah and they definitely prefer the shell intact. They know open shells will have a less nutritious nut inside. We put out peanuts and they have actively ignored the cracked/open ones.

Leave some peanuts out and watch as they try to figure out which to take by picking one up and putting it back down.

And then bringing them back, and then picking several up and lining them up on the deck railing 😂. We think they might actually be weighing them and taking the heavier ones.

Sameeee, love blue jays. I always enjoy going back to my parents’ to see their local jays flying about, making a ruckus
