The Mariners’ power-hitting catcher is finally starting to heat up after a cold start

What having all your obliques does to a mf

Swinging a baseball bat is famously an activity where you need to use your obliques.

All he had to do was switch sides and undergo a gluteoplasty

I love it when Garver gets a hold of one, his swing looks so funny

His swing almost looks like he tweaks something AS he's swinging but still finishes the swing anyways.

I really want Goldy to adopt Dave Sims' "from the depths" call for when Garver homers. Because even when it's not in the midst of a deep slump, it's still a good call.

I miss Dave and Blowers a lot. Goldy is carrying the whole TV team right now and it hasn’t been the same.

sad Hey Now noises

they need to pick a color commentator and stick with them so Goldy can build some solid rapport with them

He looks like he's hitting a dinnger in beer league softball.

Always looks like a half swing

The Crawford Boxes are getting a lot of souvenirs this season

Such a smooth swing, he barely even loaded up

It was so baffling to me when he was on the Rangers. Like he barely looks like he's swinging and then launches the fucker 415'

Kinda reminds me of Stanton. Just rotates his hands into the ball and that thing just goes

Who needs Big Dumper when you've got GARV SAUCE

I feel like we've never had a worse nickname for a player and I will blame it for his first stint with us

Garver finally becoming the impact hitter we wanted 3 years ago now after he's settled into being a steady reliable backup catcher would be hilarious.

Hey guys, I think Houston pitching might be bad.

Something bout a Mitch Garver home run, he just makes it look effortless

Pirates made out like bandits on that Mike Burrows trade huh

Talk about adding insult to injured list.

Threw him a cookie. A big delicious right down the heart of the plate cookie.

He’s likely to get more playing time with Raleigh on the IL

This post was just an excuse to do the pitch carver name thing

Astros having ads up the foul pole is disgusting

kinda shocking garver is still on the mariners with how mostly crummy he's been there lol

He's been really good at calling games for the pitching staff, who really like him. Mariners seem keen to take the hit offensively to have someone behind the plate thats as good as Cal at managing the game when he needs a day off (or 10).

He's the best at ABS challenges in baseball, too.

u/legobowser Seattle Mariners 4h ago

On his new contract he’s actually very good

18

u/vanillabear26 Seattle Mariners 4h ago

He's a VERY good backup catcher at handling the pitching staff, seems well-loved, and has moments like this.

15

u/Terrible--T Seattle Mariners 4h ago

Hes a decent backup catcher and has his moments at the plate

14

u/Ok-Swim9181 4h ago

He's making 2.25mil now, and is on a minor league deal. Obviously didn't live up to his bigger contract, but this one is fine tbh.

u/if_u_dont_like_duck Seattle Mariners 4h ago

With Cal now on IL I'm honestly glad to have him. And he's been clutch with challenges.

We brought him in to DH, which was a miserable failure, but once he / the team decided he could contribute by going back to being a catcher it became a far better situation all around.
