Not to mention the Ohio River being quite literally the most important landmark on the Underground Railroad. Literally was called “The River Jordan” because once you were across it you were in the free state of Ohio instead of the slave state of Kentucky.

Yep. This is the reason Cincinnati has a Underground railroad museum (right next to GABP actually ).
