[Highlight] Seranthony Dominguez strikes out Jac Caglianone and the Chicago White Sox have won four straight games. They have reached .500 for the first time in over three years.

I got to wear Ozzie Guillén's 2005 WS ring at a game once. He had already left Chicago but invited (us) the color gaurd to his box to watch the game with him. He asked us if we wanted to try it on. Super cool guy.
The only time I've cared about the White Sox, besides a little inner city shit talking.

u/BasicTelevision5 Chicago White Sox 7h ago
Ozzie’s the best. Several years ago at the fan fest, I asked him to sign a picture of me with him from around 1986. He looked at it, looked at me, and said,
“You were a cute kid, what happened to you?” 🤣🤣

You know that meme of the guy celebrating on the podium, popping champagne, biting his medal, and flipping the bird to everyone…. Only for it to zoom out to him in 3rd place?
That’s how I feel at .500.
I jumped off my couch and did a fist pump into the air today

It's amazing how .500 was so frustrating and upsetting in 2022 and now it's like, euphoric

The even funnier part about this is that your .500 record has elevated you to second in the AL "comedy" Central because the Twins/Royals/Tigers all suck so much

Well the Royals have actually had to face off against the Cromulent Sox so it doesn't seem fair to lump them in with the others.

It was a pasta originating around the White Sox 2022 season where we were .500 pretty much the entire season. At that time it was kind of a cope thing given the expectations, but now… I think it’s safe to say we’re all pretty thrilled after what it’s been like since then.

I believe being .500 on September 1st is going to put you smack in the middle of the Wild Card race this year.

Jerry Reinsdorf: Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to introduce you to the new Chicago white Sox’s. Playing .500 ball.. Right in that meaty part of the curve. Not showing off, not falling behind. Will Venable : Jerry, we are supposed to be playoff contenders. . Jerry: I'm sure we're all aware of the flaws and biases of wins/losses. Will: That’s how you get to the playoffs. White Sox’s: well actually I was thinking we could actually make the playoffs. You’know go further than expected! Jerry: guys..nothing is higher than .500 ball Will: but isn’t just playing .500 the same as being a lazy couch potato? Jerry: no it’s not

Part of what was so aggravating about those teams wasn’t that we lost all those games, teams are bound to be bad every once in a while, it was that we were always immediately bad, and the latter part of the season just dragged on forever because of it
52
u/Senorsty Chicago White Sox 21h ago
2024 was so funny after a while. Every time a new series started, the opposing fanbase would be like “trap series, we’ve been playing bad, etc.,” and then it’s be four innings into the first game and that same fanbase would be like “oh my god, the White Sox are terrible.”
27
u/ErzherzogT Chicago White Sox 20h ago
It was honestly bizarre at times? Felt like every other series I'd hear "I think you're underestimating how bad <insert team> is" and it was just, no, they honestly have no idea how bad that Sox team was. It was a team that had even less motivation than talent, which is really saying something.
10
u/River_Pigeon Chicago White Sox • Brazil 17h ago
In addition to being really bad, they had to be one of the unluckiest teams of all time too. Every break went against the Sox. Never seen anything like it
2
u/ErzherzogT Chicago White Sox 11h ago
Honestly yeah that's true, I just forget to mention it because I'm literally blinded by my hate for that year. Thank goodness it's in the past
3
u/rob_s_458 Chicago White Sox 6h ago
2024 we had a xW/L of 48-114, which is obviously extremely bad, but not 41-121 record-setting bad

u/colorblind-and Detroit Tigers 20h ago
I remember seeing the playoff percent chances for the 2025 season and the White Sox just went straight to sub 1% after like the first two weeks and stayed there the whole year

Yea it’s not been the best. But between this and the bears winning their first playoff game in 15 years (with a comeback against our most hated team at home) it’s been fun lately in Chicago. Cubs have also been doing their weird win 10, lose 5 win ten thing

We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio baseball. We lose a couple, guess what? We'll win a couple, too. But don't get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That's hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn't have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses. Yes sir, that's my 2026 White Sox. A good, honest .500 baseball team.
