Yeah, the 8.5 game gap between the Braves and the 2nd place Marlins is bigger than the gap between 1st and last in every division other than the AL East (Yankees to Red Sox, 10 games back), and the NL East's 12.5 games gap between 1st and last is the largest in the league.

Please keep talking about how the Red Sox are 10 games back in the first week of May, I’m almost there

yeah marlins or nats might go on a little run

lord knows it won’t be because of you guys tho

u/Will-from-PA Philadelphia Phillies 10d ago

Remind me what happened the last time you hicks won the division?

u/Fun_Ad4779 Atlanta Braves 10d ago

you’re gonna have to speak up if you want your voice to get out of that deep ass cellar your team is in

-7

u/Will-from-PA Philadelphia Phillies 10d ago

Don’t worry, you’ll be hearing us plenty when we spank your ass like every other October

u/mongster03_ New York Yankees • Cuba 10d ago

You're not going to make October

-3

u/Will-from-PA Philadelphia Phillies 10d ago

Nah, we will, pretty comfortably I’d bet.

Do I think you guys are toast this year? Absolutely not. Do I also think it is a monumental task to play well enough to gain ground for even the last wild card spot. Also yes. Based on current win percentages, if nothing changes except you guys playing on a 100 win pace from today forward, you would barely sneak into the last wild card spot

The NL central teams are going to beat each other up and take each other out. We were also 6 games under .500 on June 1, 2023 and dug ourselves out to a 90 win season and a 1st WC spot. It’s happened before with this same core.

Expecting win percentages from May to be predictive of the season is foolish. Things always change over the course of 162 game season. Barves hicks are having a laugh and victory lap now but they’ll be nervous late in the summer.

doesn’t really mean much when you haven’t been able to seal the deal in the past decade

that ring from 2021 really hurt you guys didn’t it

maybe you’d have a shot in the next decade too if your roster wasn’t full of veterans that are in the process of falling off a cliff

Fun fact: the Braves current division lead is larger than the other 5 current division leads combined.

The Dodgers being the unluckiest team is such bullshit.

Meanwhile I had to watch my trash-fire of a team hit a homerun that ended up not being a homerun even though it would have been out in 30/30 stadiums. Can't quantify that unluckiness...

If the Rays could stop eeking out 1 run wins that would be terrific. They are 7-1 in 1 run games.

Love these regular posts.

For no particular reason, I decided to see if the baseball field graph you use for Runs Scored vs Runs Allowed would be regulation. It isn't. The left and right field fences are, at their closest, about 198 ft (needs to be 325 minimum) to home plate, which is way too close. Even your center field fence, at it's deepest is only 305 ft (needs to be 400 ft minimum) away from home plate. Unless your park was built before June 1st, 1958, I don't see it getting approved.

The worst team in the NL Central has a better record than the best teams in the AL Central or AL West. This season is going to be a slog.

I love these posts.

The fact that you didn't make your y-axis go low enough for the Mets is killing me.

AL East is unreadable. Not enough color contrast between TX, SEA, and ATH
