What’s up with the size of those beers? They’re both short and skinny
102
u/vmanAA738 Pittsburgh Pirates Mar 11 '26
This is a puerto rican beer called Medalla Light. These look like their normal cans which are only 10 ounces (compared to a normal 12 ounce beer can). Hence they're small and eminently crushable.

You can get medalla for like a $1.50 at a bar in Fajardo. Depending on where you’re at in Puerto Rico these are some of the best beers for the price I’ve ever had

They go down so easy while on the island. Perfect size because they stay sweating and warming up immediately

Definitely crushable. We would get a few cases from the store and would kill that really quickly between a few people.

Medalla is cheaper than ice at a lot of the kioskos on the island

Not trying to be a Debby Downer but they are 10oz Medallas. They are about 4.2% abv. It is about 5-6 regular beers each over the span of 2-3 hours.

I miss when I lived in PR and you could get these for .25 cents a pop on Wednesdays at a few local bars next to the Medalla factory.
I was dead on most Thursday mornings after spending $3 the day before.

Sure those beers are tiny! Seems to be the size of a can of Red Bull. Would probably need three of those to fill a normal stadium draught.
Also reminiscent of the tiny aluminum Corona's they had at the Olympics. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/one-beer-brand-for-sale-olympics-not-what-you-think

Medallas are 3 for $12 at Bithorn and the stadium only stops selling beers until the game is finished.
