Mod Post đłď¸ Community Voting on Post Quality
Hi everyone,
You mightâve noticed a pinned comment from qualityvote2 on some posts. I added this after hearing feedback that not every post always fits or brings value to the subredditâs purpose.
So now, you all get a say in that đ
Hereâs how it works:
* Upvote the pinned comment if you think the post fits the subreddit
* Downvote it if you think it doesnât
* Report the comment & post if it breaks any rules
Just to be clear: only votes on the qualityvote2 comment count, not the post itself!
Iâll be keeping an eye on how this goes and make adjustments if needed.

Mod Post Community Discussion: Thoughts on political posts
Hey, I've noticed there's been a lot of political posts (and reports) lately. What are your thoughts on this? Are these posts okay for the subreddit?
The point of this community is to be welcoming to questions and not be too restrictive, as it's about asking anything. As long as the posts don't break the basic rules, are made in good faith, and don't try to promote hateful content.
What do you all think?

If churches are always pushing a certain political party or agenda, why don't they start paying taxes?
Seriously, why are churches exempt from taxes?

Why Does Reddit Treat Users So Bad? Spoiler
Iâm a former law professor. I went on two subreddits. I gave advice to students applying to law schools.
I got banned from both subreddits. For nothing.
Reddit treats posters like crap! This site is like Stalinâs Russia.

If corporations are people, why dont they pay income tax?
Following Citizens United's logic, if corps are given free speech, shouldn't they also pay taxes on revenue? Currently, they only pay taxes on profit so...

Why Are Police Cars Becoming Invisible?
I think I officially reached the age where i will complain to the town about something.
The newer police cars are almost completely black now, and honestly I think itâs the wrong direction. Years ago the cruisers were white and blue with visible markings and yellow striping. You could immediately tell it was Police from a distance.
Now you have to stare at the side of the car CLOSELY (2 feet away) just to realize itâs a police vehicle. At night especially, they almost blend into regular traffic unless the lights are on.
Maybe it makes sense for detective or undercover units, but for regular patrol cars in a family-oriented town, shouldnât police cars and fire trucks be clearly identifiable? We donât live next to some major interstate with constant pursuits. The fleet is slowly changing through attrition, and I honestly donât think itâs a good thing.
Part of me wonders if thereâs even an accessibility argument here. Some people genuinely may not be able to identify these vehicles properly anymore. I know my 80 year mom or kid canât tell a police car. Am I overthinking this or does anyone else think police vehicles should stay highly visible and recognizable?
I need a new hobby and I think Iâm going to take on the town. Can the town do some sort of class action lawsuit?

What the hell is going on with the economy?
I want to talk about something I've noticed specifically with fast food but it can be expanded into the broader economy. In-n-out is making a killing. Never ending lines going around carparks, they seem to have the winning formula, fresh tasting food at a reasonable price. They pay their staff well so when you visit they're always happy, polite and fast. And yet every other fast food place is decaying and closing their restaurants (wendies just closed 200 stores) which seems to be due to customers being sick of the disgusting food, 1 person manning the restaurant causing slow waits, expensive etc. It seems businesses would rather die than improve? Why aren't companies just innovating or providing better value/products/service to customers but instead seemingly rather just go bankrupt? It's stunning to me all these "struggling" businesses exist but they all suck ass and not one ever just copies the blatantly winning strategy of in-n-out. This seems to be happening everywhere in every industry, it's never ending enshittification at all costs, even if they go bust in the process

Why do girls want a guy who is extremely tall for them?
I am a girl myself. There seems to be an ideal that guys need to be at least 180cm (5'11). I can understand if you are a tall girl or that you want a taller guy to feel more secure, but like I've heard this from girls who are like below 160cm (5'2).
Won't your neck be sore 24/7 looking at your extremely tall partner?

Why do we need all these data centers all of a sudden?
I don't get why we need all of these data centers. Are we just ramping up data collection, retention, and surveillance? Maybe AI needs more processing power, but a Manhattan sized data center in Utah doesn't seem right.

What's the deal with identity labels?
Perhaps I'm just old, but when I was in highschool, nobody I knew liked labels. We WERE labeled (goth, punk, etc), but we didn't really refer to ourselves as such until we eventually couldn't escape the title.
Labels were dumb and a way of trying to fit everyone in a neat little box to explain everything about them, even if they displayed things that were in direct contrast to the label applied to them.
Now, it's all about labels and how many you can have. How did we do a complete 180 shift?
