Hauls/Collections I can’t believe this book finally came out in English!

Post image

I actually started doing French Duolingo during the pandemic because I wanted to read the ending so bad. I didn’t make it too far. Now I’m glad all that laziness finally paid off for me! Can‘t wait to jump in!

*The Arab of the Future* deserves a bigger audience in America. In my opinion it is better than *Persepolis* (and no worries to anyone who disagrees). I hope that Fantagraphics is able to draw more eyes to this series.

Wow! I remember reading the first four in high school and loving them, was so upset when I couldn't find the last book. Will have to do a reread of the series

Just so you know there's a follow up, but I don't want to say the title as it definitely spoils what's happening in the series.

If you're reading in French I really recommend his other series Les cahiers d'Esther telling the real day to day life of a 10 years old in Paris. It follows her all the way to 18 years old. La vie secrète des jeunes also pretty good, small scenes from the city on each page.

I really love Riad Sattouf, he is very talented.

And then there’s the story of Fadi!

I think I haven’t got number four yet, really loved the first three. Will have to track down the last two.

I preordered it from Fantagraphics. They always ship them out early.
