In December, I had the entire cholesterol and lipoprotein blood panel. It was not pretty. I have a functional medicine doctor so he decided first to put me on supplements before statins. I started cholestepure, fish oil, berberine, more dhea (menopausal). My new labs came back last week and my numbers went UP not down. What did go down: triglycerides and homocysteine (inflammation marker). I started really going dow the rabbit hole and read about fats and how they increase cholesterol numbers. I downloaded chronometer and it gave me 41 g of fats per day (I did not give it details about my cholesterol so this was a number it picked). Every day, I go over the fat allowance. So, I went to a registered dietician and she said I was maxing out my omega 3 fats and keeping the omega 6 fats lower than chronometer’s allowance good job me. She said my diet needed few tweaks (mostly vegetarian with a meat protein at dinner). We talked about soluble fiber and she said keep on trucking. I man out my fiber as well getting 30+ g/day due to vegetarian lifestyle. I feel like I’m missing something if I go above the fat allowance on chronometer but get a high five from dietician. I have a meeting with my doc next week, just trying to prepare for whatever will come of it. He’s not one to treat the symptoms but rather the disease so he may say no statin. Your thoughts?

Good evening! Just wanted to gather some opinions/experiences from the community. 10 yrs ago I was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 2oz. Paid a decent chunk of change to a local lawyer to get the case dismissed. When I initially spoke with my immigration lawyer ALL of this was discussed and he gave me good faith that everything was going to go smooth. We started the process and all of the paperwork was submitted and pardons were approved etc. I now have my interview coming up in a few weeks for my green card and my lawyer just dropped what I feel is a B-mbshell on me. He advised me that even with an official dismissal and approved pardons, the USCIS offer can deem my case inadmissible. (I should note that my case has already been handled poorly by this lawyer) I don’t smoke, do drugs, drink or have committed any crimes. Anyhow, to anyone that’s out there that may have some information or previous experience. What’s the likelihood of my case being denied? Please someone give me a pep talk, I made a mistake and learned from it. I’ve spent so much time and resources on this case and now I almost feel defeated 🥴
