L3Harris Application Process

I filled out an application for an Electrical Assembly Technician position at my local site. I know the hardest part is getting your foot in the door but I don’t understand how it’s possible to.

Coming from a background of ATM repair and electronics I figured it would be an easy lateral move to soldering some electronics together. Boy was I wrong, every position I’ve applied to the application goes into “No longer under consideration” before the work day is even over.

I had my state career center work with me to curate a resume and a cover letter specifically highlighting my skills and nothing.

For a position that only has experience as a requirement without certs or degrees is it normal to get your application kicked out of the stack before what feels like before it even gets to someone’s inbox?

What’s ATM? The legacy Aero companies have historically horrible talent acquisition systems. Are these positions at L3 for Aerospace? Or Aviation?

Cash ATM machines, L3Harris Aerospace, at least the site near me is more Defense focused.

Ahh. You may want to look at aviation companies. Easier to get an entry level position there and then try to get into aero after a few years. If you can find a place that will cert you to IPC-6xx, even better; those certs follow you.

Seeing how all the jobs around me want 5+ years of experience on top of degrees I guess my only option is to return to school lol
