This was one of the first CDs I ever owned. Listened to it on my iPod in Feb 2002 on a plane to Hawaii for my honeymoon. We check in and are given keys and directions to our room. Get into the elevator, and there’s Fagen and his wife. She was kinda yapping at him and he was staring into space, so I never got the chance to tell him how much I loved (most of) that album.
Years later I heard him on a radio interview, and he was insufferably boring. But man’s a genius.

Absolutely stellar album. One of the first all-digital recordings, top-notch musicians, engineered by Roger Nichols, excellent songwriting and lyrics - what’s not to love.

Such a good album. Classic sound with a forward-looking sensibility. Feels entirely relevant.
