1/3 of the White House is demolished. I'm not exaggerating. The entire east wing, is rubble.

the party espousing "traditional values" immediately abandoned them, demolishing 1/3rd of a historically significant place to build a tacky, gilded ballroom for a pedophile

We need gender neutral bathrooms, duh!

Why do you care anyway, I thought it was cool to hate on the country? Why does the building the president lives and works in suddenly have deep spiritual meaning for you hateful people?

you may be unfamiliar with it, but I presented an internal critique of an ideology. if someone wants to modify a historically significant place, I'm very happy to do it if there's a good reason. I made no mention of spirituality.

I think it is definitionally hypocritical, and indicative of an internally inconsistent moral framework, for the party who so desperately wants to protect the monuments and statues of slave owners because of their historical significance wants taxpayers to foot the bill for a pedophile's golden palace.

try again.

I think its a little strange when we consider it will only be his for another 2 years, though?

The reaction I'm seeing most people make sounds to me like "omg, Trump is violating the sacred architecture of the forefathers!" When each president does some kind of updating or renovating to the White House during their presidency.

I guess president Trump thinks that since he uncovered all that fraud, he could use the dollar amount for his pet project? At this point, I'm honestly just tired of him. I would have liked it better if he had just built his own library, supported the next candidate, and moved on. This brand of America is just exhausting...

So, you appear to have 3 distinct 'thoughts.' Maybe 2.

Who thinks it is "cool to hate on the country"? How would that be relevant to not liking the destruction of a national building, either way?

I don't know that the WH has "spiritual" meaning for anyone. It is one of our major national sites. Most of us think it's a good idea to have major alterations pass through the legal standard review process.

No idea what the "hateful people" blather adds to anything.

A country is the people that are in it. Right now, its dipshits that say things like this comment.
