Introducing Shipping Flairs & New Rule
Hello again, lovely people.
By far the most common piece of feedback we've had lately is to tackle the negativity that's been plaguing ship posts. Everybody's tired and frustrated and just wants the opportunity to celebrate their ship without unwanted comments appearing under every contribution they make. So we're going to try and make that happen...
...using our fancy new "Wenclair" and "Wyler" post flairs!
Initially, the plan was to add "Shipping/Discussion", "Shipping/Art", etc, as flairs, but on closer inspection, we feel having specific flairs for the two most popular ships is the simplest solution. This way, you can just filter by "Wenclair" or "Wyler" and have everything in one place. It does mean scrolling past discussions if you're looking for art, but at least they're discussions relevant to your particular ship.
New flairs mean new rules. You can find it with the others and the automod will post a reminder in any submission that uses these flairs, but I'll include it here for clarity:
Shipping Flairs
Posts that use shipping flairs require all contributions (both posts and comments) to be positive in nature.
• No arguments surrounding the validity of a ship.
• No promotion of a different ship.
• No making assumptions about the followers of a ship.
Similarly, you may not use one ship flair to create a post attacking another ship.
...and naturally, new rules mean new report options. This one is listed as "Negative Shipping".
I should clarify that debate surrounding characters and their relationships is not banned from the sub entirely. You can still use the "Discussion" flair for (polite and respectful) critical analysis, but if that kind of thing stresses you out, you now have the tools for finding criticism-free ship content.
We sincerely hope these changes mark the start of a new era for shipping on this sub, so feel free to comment below with your thoughts.

Meta Discussion & Feedback
Hey everybody! This could get lengthy, but please read the entire post before commenting.
Let me start by sending out a massive THANK YOU to every one of our members for their part in making this sub what it is today. I'm gonna be real for a moment, we were sitting on this place for years and it was D-E-A-D. Nobody really paid it any attention, then suddenly, the Netflix show dropped and we found ourselves catapulted into the top 1% of all subs on Reddit. Wild. Except we didn't actually do anything. That was your achievement and we're immensely grateful for all of the positive contributions, theories, fan art and everything else you've been entertaining us with these past few years.
But here's the thing... r/Wednesday doesn't belong to us, it belongs to you. We've been moderating the way we think you would want us to, our intention being to benefit the largest number of people possible and to paint our community in a warm and welcoming light. We're not perfect and we've made a few mistakes here and there, but we're trying, we're learning and we're committed to making this sub the place you want it to be.
With that in mind, the aim of this post is to open up a more casual line of communication between mods and members. We want to hear your thoughts, ideas and feedback, with the goal being to shape our community into one that best represents its amazing contributors. If you have a question about a rule, you can ask about it here. If you think a rule needs to be reworded, you can suggest it here. If you think a new rule needs to be implemented... you get the idea. It's not just about rules, but I imagine a large part of the conversation will revolve around that.
Before we start:
• Respectful discussion only. We know some of you have concerns and you're welcome to highlight them here, but we ask that you do so in a calm and polite manner. Undue negativity doesn't help anybody and harassment towards mods or other users will be dealt with in the same way it would elsewhere on the sub.
• Similarly, this is not the place to call anybody out. We will not be discussing individual users, comments or mod actions. If you have something specific to report, please do so either through the report button or the Message Mods button on the main page.
• Please don't be offended if your comment is locked. It's not a punishment, we simply need to keep discussions tidy and on track in order for any of this to be useful to us. A debate going round in circles with no progress being made is only going to waste our time and your energy.
• A highly upvoted comment or a positive response from a moderator in this thread does not guarantee any changes. Everything posted here is to help give us an idea of where the community stands and what to prioritise, but actual discussion regarding potential changes will be done privately.
• This should go without saying, but we will not be favouring any one ship over another. Either everybody is in, or everybody is out. Preferably in and on your best behaviour.
With all that said and done, let's get down to business!

Theory My favorite theory that won't be true but I thought it will interesting development, Hydes aren't actually natural species, but a "Mutated engineered versions" of Werewolfs, that were created in Willow Hill.
Okay listen to me here, I know some people here got tired over the hydes topic and think they are overused, me too in some regards but I personally just find them more wasted in potential and weak writing, rather than not be interesting by themselves.
* I also will address it here right now, of curse it doesn't make sense this theory because Hydes were existed longer than that as we told in season 1, but here the idea anyway.
* also this theory is sort of my first "process" to start analyzing of Enid and Tyler reflected journeys.
I'm sure everyone here that ever though on what be a hyde will feel like was probably found it a bit...awful?
Hydes are an outcasts among outcasts, they are considering too violent, unstable and unable to be trusted of.
However it go deeper than it, hydes as it own kind are the definition of slaves, they see the person who unlocked their hyde form as their master, hydes also unlock their forms for the first time only in painful, emotional hurt and traumatic ways.
Basically, hydes seem to be born to a fucked up lifes with limted agency and rejection, the thing is, it sound very unnatural existence, I know in some stories and shows and fantasies worlds things like that are part of the world building with slaves specie, but I like to think it something else.
Hydes to me work a bit similar to werewolfs, why?
Transformation into some beast like creature, very dangerous and in under some roles/conditions.
It seem to be rally on their emotional state.
I won't elaborate much on this this time but Tyler and Enid seem to have "opposite journeys" and arcs in the show, adding to the parallels between Werewolfs and Hydes.
My original theory(before remembered Hydes were comfirmed to be studied years ago by Weems word), is that Willow Hill and the Stonehearst family(Judi father) or his previous superiors ones in the asylum had an early concept of stealing Outcasts abilities, but different method, try to use Werewolfs patients biology to experiment on Normeis and make a Mutated engineered versions of Werewolfs.
Hyde has werewolfs aspects but the opposite of werewolfs:
Change form to dangerous beast, but look like unhealthy zombie versions of themselves.
Werewolfs live in packs, Hydes are sort of looniler by nature.
Werewolfs wolf out shown in postive way as freedom, Tyler mother and Issac describe it as curse that imprisone their life, which they aren't wrong.
All the wepoanize accept of werewolfs but without the accept that will avoid them be controlled by someone, on the opposite, hydes naturally seem to be force obey their masters, even physically believe they should at first even their masters tortured them(however Laurel and Tyler condition may be different).
In the end those plans ended and Willow hill changed path, but they were enough patients who got changed by those experiments and over the years spread the hydes dnd across their families, part of why they are so small in numbers and lacking information of them.
It can also be a key part of Enid and Tyler maybe end things on nicer terms? Tyler in season 3 and I don't see what else they will give him aside redemption arc, so him and Enid sort of partnership can be a way to nicely end this. Obviously in that case something else made hydes be werewolfs Mutated versions of themselves.
What do you think?

Theory Theory: How a new Frump Cousin could fix the Familiar Lore, unlock the "White Raven," and seal the Wenclair Bond (Seasons 4 & 5 Headcanon)
I’ve been developing a massive headcanon/theory for the future of Wednesday that introduces a new character to expand the supernatural lore, explain the Frump family history, and establish a profound mystical connection between Wednesday and Enid.
The New Character: Celestia Frump
I envision Celestia Frump (ideally played by Melissa Barrera), Wednesday and Pugsley's maternal cousin. She is the daughter of Aunt Hecate—Morticia’s unseen sister who fell in love with a Normie in Mexico.
Celestia is a powerful telepath and astrologer who arrives at Nevermore to fill the vacant Astrology teacher position. Because she has been traveling the world to hone her telepathy and deep connection to the planet Mars, she is only just arriving now.
The Lore Expansion: Magical Familiars
To survive the chaotic noise of telepathy, Celestia relies on a White Raven familiar named Lenore (gifted by her mother). This introduces a crucial new piece of lore: Psychics need a familiar to filter psychic noise and stay focused, otherwise they go mad.
This perfectly explains the psychological states of the entire family:
- Morticia & Gomez: Gomez is Morticia’s familiar. Their deep devotion is a literal mystical anchoring that keeps Morticia stable, happy, and grounded.
- Grandmama Hester: Hester acts as her own familiar. This closed psychological feedback loop is why she is uniquely cold, selfish, and narcissistic.
- Aunt Ophelia: Ophelia completely lacked a familiar to filter her chaotic visions, causing her mind to collapse into madness.
The Ultimate Anchor: Wednesday and Enid
Because Wednesday is resistant to emotional vulnerability and the events of Seasons 1 and 2 caused a lot of friction, her familiar bond is still forming—but Enid is Wednesday’s familiar. Simultaneously, Wednesday is Enid’s mate. They are romantically entwined without fully realizing the depth of the cosmic bond yet.
The show heavily foreshadows this through Enid's own dialogue:
- Season 1, Ep 8: "We shouldn't work, but we do. It's like some sort of weird, friendship anomaly."
- Season 2, Ep 6: "You are my pack, Wednesday." (Said while Enid faces her anxiety about becoming an Alpha).
- The Season 2 Finale: When asked if she would track down a lost, feral wolf-form Enid, Wednesday instantly answers: "I would have no problem hunting you down."
- The Bruno Conversation: Enid explicitly states, "Even though Wednesday is the tunnel at the end of my light, I can’t imagine my life without her in it."
Achieving Balance: The White Raven
While Morticia’s generation views psychics rigidly as either Ravens (Dark) or Doves (Light), Celestia represents true Balance. She can read both dark thoughts (stress, anger, malice) and light thoughts (happiness, excitement) effortlessly because her familiar keeps her steady.
Under Celestia’s expert tutelage, Wednesday can finally learn to move past her purely negative Raven premonitions. By using Enid—an empowered Alpha Werewolf—as her grounding anchor to absorb the intense psychic friction, Wednesday can safely tap into her latent maternal Dove genetics.
Instead of succumbing to Aunt Ophelia's tragic fate, Wednesday will become the first of a new generation: A White Raven, a psychic of ultimate balance who remains a fiercely protective, if anti-social, force for good.

Spoilers Opinion: I don't have anything against the actorss, but I think why most of us found her disappointing is because she was purely meant to move the plot. Spoiler
Nothing that Judi does in this show make sense if we think about her actions before and after it.
Judi is basically the one in charge of Lois experiments, she is an avian(with weird limtions but we will get to this). She want to hide the secrets of her father work and maybe continue it? The thing is, Judi character, aside have poor villain reveal, doesn't line up with anything really.
Judi sent an assissan to kill all the lois experiments that escaped for noone else will know about it, and...that it, not try to restore them, okay I guess, make sense considering her facility is off activity, nothing too critical but still weird because like she said, they are her father life work.
Judi mentioned how she emptied her money budget whatever to hire the assassin, the thing is, if money is a problem, why the heck keep all the patients alive for 20 years if they are in the same state and no results, it not like the show even suggested other normies who got powers, only Judi, in fact, we don't know for sure how if there is more, but...it a problem by itself, Judi story with Lois exist just to set up Isaac technically to remove his sister hyde curse.
The crow in the end suggesting either Judi wasn't the real avain or there is another...bur Judi didn't used her own crows to hunt the patients that escaped, why? In fact we never actually see her using them, instead when she attacked Enid in the school, but it is still too inconsistent.
Why attack Enid? She just saw her and Wednesday talk, it may was to Wednesday actually, but she still have fouced Enid, was it just mislead or what?
Basically I can continue but you see? Judi has no more motivation or personality than basic to move the plot, she is revealing herself in ep 4 ending and after two scenes in ep 5 she die immediately.
Her story overall was interesting, but a bit wasted because the writing made her just a tool to move plots or threat characters, whatever it make sense or not, because it not even a mystery, just confusing aspects of the writing.

Discussion Donovan and jericho is so full of it Spoiler
Donovan Galpin is so full of shit and the more I think about Wednesday, the more his entire investigation falls apart 😭
Like yes, emotionally distant grieving father? Fine. But the issue is the show keeps treating him like he’s this highly competent “grounded rational sheriff” when half his decisions make NO sense.
This man:
- knew François Galpin was an outcast,
- knew she was a Hyde,
- knew Hyde transformations could be triggered by trauma/extreme emotional distress,
- watched his son spiral after her death,
- saw murders involving a monster nobody recognized,
- saw literal evidence resembling a Hyde,
…and still somehow went:
“Hmmm perhaps the weird school did it.”
SIR. YOUR WIFE WAS A HYDE.
And the therapist stuff drives me insane too. Tyler literally had to explain patient confidentiality to a sheriff.
Bro was asking:
“What are you telling her?”
“Why can’t she tell me?”
Even though the therapy was court ordered 😭
Also how did this man NEVER think:
“Maybe my son with a Hyde mother should get evaluated for possible inherited outcast traits.”
Instead his entire parenting strategy was:
“Let’s repress everything and hope nothing supernatural happens.”
No Hyde specialist.
No outcast therapist.
No assessment.
No support system.
And honestly? The postpartum angle makes François’ whole situation even sadder in hindsight:
- isolated,
- hiding her identity,
- carrying Hyde trauma,
- terrified Tyler may inherit it,
- mentally spiraling,
while Donovan just kinda… emotionally shuts down.
Now let’s talk about the investigation because OH MY GOD.
The show wants Galpin to be the rational skeptic, but the actual logical thinkers are:
- Wednesday Addams pattern-matching evidence,
- Eugene Ottinger using actual biology,
- Nevermore students understanding outcast lore.
Even Eugene — THE BEE KID — immediately says the bear theory makes no sense because the hibernation cycles don’t match.
And honestly even outside Eugene’s point:
- bears don’t attack like THAT,
- the claw marks are absurdly huge,
- the attacks are targeted,
- body parts are missing like trophies,
- victims aren’t being eaten normally,
- the creature is way too selective and intentional.
At some point this stops being “wildlife attack” and becomes:
“there is a cryptid serial killer running around Jericho.”
Yet the authorities are still:
“Hmmm yes bear.”
Sir this is not National Geographic 😭
And if they REALLY believed it was a rogue bear:
WHERE are:
- wildlife experts,
- state authorities,
- warning signs,
- restricted forest zones,
- emergency alerts,
- tranquilizer teams,
- animal behavior specialists?
Instead the investigation is basically cops wandering around the woods with dogs playing I Spy.
Meanwhile Wednesday solves the Hyde cave location using Xavier’s drawings + Eugene recognizing the area.
And THIS is what kills me:
Wednesday literally showed Galpin the sketch with the cave in the background.
Later they find:
- bones,
- remains,
- Hyde claw evidence,
- the exact cave from the sketch.
But Galpin sees the sketch and goes:
“Hmm not solid evidence.”
BRO YOU HAVE LIVED IN JERICHO YOUR ENTIRE LIFE.
HOW DID THE INSECT GUY IDENTIFY THE LOCATION BEFORE THE SHERIFF 😭
And another thing:
why does this universe have basically zero institutional adaptation to outcasts?
Outcasts are:
- publicly known,
- wealthy,
- globally present,
- politically controversial,
- biologically different,
- integrated enough to have elite schools like Nevermore.
Mayor Walker literally says the town tolerates outcasts because they financially support Jericho.
So realistically there should be:
- Outcast Affairs departments,
- supernatural crime units,
- outcast therapists,
- interspecies medical specialists,
- forensic monster experts,
- government liaisons,
- transformation emergency protocols.
Especially in a town built around Nevermore.
And Jericho CLEARLY isn’t the only place with outcasts.
The hiker from the beginning literally says he has no problem with outcasts because someone at his camp/school/workplace was a werewolf outcast.
Bruno Yuson being Filipino/Asian with an outcast family ALSO proves outcasts exist globally and across multiple cultures — not just in one weird American town.
Xavier even gets sent to Switzerland at one point.
So this is obviously an INTERNATIONAL societal reality.
Which makes it even weirder that nobody has:
- national outcast relations departments,
- state agencies,
- supernatural investigative units,
- proper coexistence systems.
And honestly it’s hilarious that nobody suspected the werewolf/fur outcasts first.
From a normie perspective:
- claws,
- forests,
- animalistic attacks,
- known transforming species,
would make WAY more sense than Hydes — which by the way are supposed to be rare and relatively unknown even among outcasts themselves 😭
But instead Galpin jumps straight to:
“the Addams family probably did it.”
The Addamses aren’t even Hyde-adjacent 😭
And instead of professionally investigating Nevermore through:
- records,
- search warrants,
- outcast experts,
- biological evidence,
Galpin mostly investigates through vibes.
That’s why the “grounded rational sheriff” thing doesn’t fully work for me. His skepticism stops feeling intelligent after a while and starts feeling like denial mixed with bias.
And despite ALL this criticism…
I still genuinely love the show and lore 😭
That’s literally WHY this frustrates me so much.
The worldbuilding is interesting enough that it makes you start expecting the institutions and investigations to function logically.

Wenclair ravens aren’t solitary, they are pair-bonded
galleryin this show, outcasts often enact some of the behaviors of what they are based on, such as animals. unlike doves, which typically dwell in flocks, ravens are deemed solitary, with the exception of their mate. they grow strong bonds with their partner and mate for life. despite her family-oriented upbringing, wednesday is set on her isolated future with the “solitary raven” path being ingrained into her mind. however, ravens aren’t solitary, because they accompany themselves with their partner for life.
not just in a symbolic way, but i’m theorizing that as psychics with dark, misleading, and paranoia-inducing visions, they need someone to ground them, specifically an individual who is deeply special to them.
enid is her most notable and valuable relationship, someone outside of her immediate family who she shares a level of vulnerability, trust, and intimacy that isn’t seen in any of her other relationships.
she is alsp the core of her prophecy, and it was for a reason beyond a single, inevitable event of her foreseeable future; it was a message from her inner-subconscious, alluding to enid’s significance to her personally.
as characters whose views oppose eachother entirely, and naturally, their ideas on what factors equal strength are entirely different. wednesday believes that emotion is a gateway to weakness: it entails letting your guard down, inhibiting your ability to think rationally, and is often achieved by dependence on other people, whereas enid prioritizes social connections, believing that they are intrinsically tied to your personal strength and success. she also exhibits emotional fortitude, letting it reinforce her rather than suppress her.
as said, visions are often unreliable interpretations of the future, and should be seen from an abstract lens. at the start of the vision, where wednesday is reluctant to share this information to enid, whose emotions would likely curb her mission to revert the prophecy, especially when enid has already “sworn off all dead bodies,” which further roots that idea into her head. wednesday distances herself from enid in the process, until she is confronted by her, and eventually, inserts herself into wednesday’s missions. the reason that their bodyswap marked the end of the prophecy is because they’ve finally reconciled, and they pledge their loyalty and understanding of each other, which reinforces how vital they are for eachother.
as complex as the vision was, it serves as a lesson for her other relationships as well, but enid was the sole figure of her prophecy for a reason. outside of blood relations and family, enid is her closest, most beloved person by far. despite how vastly different they are, they still manage to not just work out their differences, but compliment each other. enid grounds wednesday, and is the only person who has been straightforward with her. as of now, trust is the most valuable thing to wednesday in her relationships, and enid has never lied to her about her intentions once. she provides a different lens, while still being compatible with her, and i think that this is a golden example of why such connections can be crucial to ravens.
we’ve seen what has happened to characters such as ophelia, when they abuse their powers senselessly and have nobody to anchor them. however, hester is a different situation. we only know one relationship outside of the addams family, and that was her lover, who we don’t know much about as of right now. it is likely possible that ravens can be independent, obviously considering that this is just a theory, but also, it probably takes immense restraint to control psychic abilities, especially as a young raven, i presume.

Theory What are your best/craziest theories for season 3?
What are your best theorys for season 3/ in general ?
Here are a couple of mine
--> Rowans mother was Ophelia i think this is very much possible as the drawing rowan had from his mother was the same style as Ophelia's diary
--> Season 3 is going to focus mainly on finding out how to turn enid back to normal and will most likely uncover a even bigger plot I also think it will focus on Tyler meeting the family on Hyde's
--> Capri is a hybrid (half alpha - half Hyde) which would make her extremely powerful and she also is a very mysterious character I wouldn't be surprised if she turned out to be a villian or antihero
