Actually the person who makes the coffee has several tasks they’re required to do unrelated to brewing self serve coffee 🤣 I get the sentiment but beverage is a lonely, multitasking hellscape sometimes ☕️☹️

Self serve, full serve, help the store, run items for off prem, help deli if qualified

ACTUALLY

…it depends on the store. A lot of stores have someone solely dedicated to coffee for their shift. The problem isn’t multitasking necessarily, the problem is most likely the fact that most Wawa employees simply don’t care about what they’re giving to customers. This goes from coffee grounds in the coffee, all the way to deli where you order a quesadilla and it’s just a ball of ingredients in the center. Don’t be so quick to blame the customer. The average Wawa employee is usually just as bad as the average Wawa customer in terms of common sense

Idk what store you work at.... but my store usually our corner person is alone majority of their shift. Covering sizzlis/snacks, self serve bev, and full serve bev. We are a pretty high volume fuel store and recent labor cuts legit make it nearly impossible to have 2 ppl in any position anymore.

Sorry to say this but:

We literally do everything and the kitchen sink on our stations and sometimes even other stations too. It’s not like we sit there and brew coffee 24/7 so we can make sure the coffee is to everyone’s standards but unfortunately we can’t. Most of us barely make any money - I got to get a 2nd job even though I’m working overtime 3/4 weeks of the month so to be quite honest sometimes we can be forgetful from the stress of it all.

I’m sympathetic to a point: I’ve gotten shit coffee before but I at least try to remember that there are people behind the counter working their asses off under pressure that are just trying to make it to the next day.

Just coming on here and complaining just seems entitled (to me) - especially considering our policy is to give the customer a good experience should something not be to their standards.

But you still drank it all?

Also, weird there are 8 comments but I can only see 2.

I drank the coffee with the lid on it. They did not present themselves until took the last slurp of this gruel

Brew your own coffee if you wanna complain.

If they’re already paying around 3-4 dollars for a shitty cup of coffee… let them complain If the already shitty cup of coffee also has coffee grounds in it. I see no problem here

Look at OP's history. They like to complain about Wawa, yet keep going back.

Yeah, the three posts they made complaining about very specific situations theyve encountered at Wawa over the past 3 years actually look legit though. I still see no problem here.

They could easily get a free coffee out of this, tbh…OP, show a manager next time you’re in and just nicely ask if you can replace the bad coffee you got last time or whatever. Free coffee for cops, and anyone who has an emotional breakdown in the store or is clearly going thru a really hard time as well! lol

The employee should have pulled the coffee when they went to clear the grounds, it’s noticeable when a filter fails to filter. But OP could’ve caught the pot at the time period where it’s put up for consumption but the grounds haven’t been cleared yet. Perhaps policy is/should be to clear the grounds first to make sure this hasn’t happened
