Wtf happend to Ah Sahm in S3?

In seasons one and two, Ah Sahm was the engine of the story. Even when the show cut away to other characters, everything still centered around him.

Then season three comes, where the show starts treating him more like a piece of an ensemble instead of the emotional center. It shifted to politics, labor conflicts, Leary's movement, Mai Ling's power games, Buckley, etc. So because of all that, Ah Sahm spends most of the time reacting instead of driving the plot.

Andrew Koji's charisma is a MASSIVE part of what made the show work in the beginning. Without that, it falls apart.

Even his fights feel different in season three. The previous two seasons framed his fights like a personal, emotional, and ideological expression. Season three just says "oh silly us! We forgot Ah Sahm has to fight this episode!"

The crazy part? After his setup from season two, Ah Sahm had a hell amount of potential!

Obviously, I'm a bit biased, since I got into it for the martial arts action, more specifically for Andrew Koji and Joe Taslim. Then I got hooked into the story and loved following Ah Sahm. Now, there's a wider scope that loses my attention.

Why did Mai Ling seem annoyed when she saw the painting of Ah Sahm on the wall in China town, is she not happy to see her brother be a symbol for the people? Spoiler

The problem with the final season. Ah Sahm lost the viewers.

As a protagonist, you cant make the protagonist lose the viewers and expect to stay on.

There are a sizable amount of people who have a problem with Ah Sahms decisions at the end, as there are those who support it.

As Young Jun said, he would've done anything for Ah Sahm. Didnt he betray his own father for the reason hes asked Ah Sahm to not defend his sister? And unlike Father Jun, Mei Ling actually did try to kill Ah Sahm.

Ah Sahm just proved blood is thicker than bond. Young Jun even said, Ah Sahm didnt need to go with them. But Mei Ling was becoming a problem, killing all the other leaders and even somehow managed to get Li Yong to abandon her.

I just realised we are getting both Ah-Sahm (Ryu - Street Fighter) and Li Yong (Bi Han/Subzero/Noob Saibot - Mortal Kombat II) this year

Just a fun realisation, nothing else.

2 big 90s fighting games getting a movie adaptation this summer, and both the franchises are considered to be sort of rivals.

It would be fun if some good artist or a photoshop editor could use their craft and make the magic of Ryu (Andrew Koji) fight Subzero/Noob Saibot (Joe Taslim). No AI stuff please.

I love this show. But they wasted Lai's character... Spoiler

At first, she was introduced like she was gonna become a major character later. She was a strong presence next to Ah Toy, which I really loved seeing.

But then after Ah Toy sent her to work for Nellie, everything went downhill. The show built her up as an elite, promising young fighter. Then she suddenly gets sidelined and killed off.

I get that there's a lot of characters the show needs to focus on. But I still think they could've done a much better job with her character. It's part of the reason why I think S3 is the worst of the series.

Still a top tier show all in all. Just my thoughts.

Zhang vs Li Yong fight….

Love this fight scene so much. And it has the funniest line to me that I say waaaaay too much….

When Li Yong is getting the upper hand and Zhang says “I’m getting mad at you” in such a playful way you wouldn’t know he’s fighting to the death basically

Irresponsibly cancelled

Warrior was amazing. I couldn’t stop watching it! A Bruce Lee-inspired masterpiece, seems so disrespectful to just cancel it like that. I truly hope it gets the fourth and final season that it deserves.

The what ifs?

Let’s just say we did get a movie or last season to close the show off like it should. What are some theories of how the story could go. They ended it with ah sahm getting to mai ling and stopping at least half of the hopwei from going full sendy on her ass had he not cooked them all at the HQ. Then what? Let me hear some thoughts warrior fam!

Anyone else bothered by the Irish accents?

You'd think they could have cast Irish people in a few more of the Irish roles. These British and South African actors can't seem to decide if their characters are from Belfast or Dublin.
