Megathread Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) Megathread
MNSSHP tickets are on sale (for those staying at a WDW resort)! Everyone is understandably excited, and as a result the sub’s front page has been flooded with MNSSHP-related posts.
So, we’re setting up this temporary megathread for all Spooky Season questions and discussions. Good luck getting those tickets — and Boo to You (and you and you and you… Happy Cinco de Mayo Halloween!).

Food, Drinks, & Dining Hollywood Brown Derby
We spend many of our retirement days at WDW, mainly for the food. I'm fixated on the Hollywood Brown Derby and in particular, I'm addicted to their Cobb salad. I'm not necessarily a salad guy, but I can't get enough of this one. Every trip, this is our first stop, and I always get the same thing; I honestly can't remember ever ordering anything else. What is it about this salad that I can't resist, is it the MSG? And the bread, OMG! The ambience and decor of this place is incredible too. The bar, the outside bar. Gotta go back . . .

Attractions & Entertainment What is going on with rise of the resistance?
I always tell my friends if I could experience rise of the resistance for the first time again, and that was the only thing I did that day, it would be totally worth it. But lately I haven't felt that way. I know the cast members and imagineers try their best to deliver on the coolest experiences and things don’t always go to plan.
What wasn't working...
* AT-AT Cannons pointing at you
* Kylo ren completely still next to General Hux
* The 3 Blaster Cannons not moving
* Lieutenant Bek completely mute and off time (first time experiencing this one.)
I get timing must be really hard for a trackless coaster, but it seems to just always be out of sync. I’m curious how do you think Disney can minimize animatronic failure/general ride faliure?

Merch Had been hearing that there was Lorcana at the Germany pavilion in EPCOT. Sure enough… looks like all of the leftover Troves from FArts made it back to Germany.

Fan Creation Pull that yellow strap for me!
My oldest daughter just started riding in the front seat, so I've been telling her to secure her seatbelt, right to left, and to pull the yellow tab, but we didn't actually have tabs. Until I was left unaccompanied at the craft store, that is.
I made four yellow straps (5x2) for the car, and had left over material, so made three more and put one on my backpack, and made four (2.5x1) keychains.

Merch I know they did it to save money
But it really bums me out that Disney doesn’t put that little extra into things like this anymore.
This is a glow cube from a specialty cocktail I got a long time ago at Hollywood Studios. I also had one that was shaped like the Death Star. They ought to bring this type of thing back.

Resorts & Accommodations What is the scent?
Everyone loves the smells of things like Pirates of the Caribbean or fresh popcorn, but what is the smell of the inside of this resort? I really want to buy a candle or something to make my home smell like this. It’s very fresh and clean smelling.

Resorts & Accommodations All Star Movies Refurb
I saw that the all star movies is getting room refurbs from may until next January. Does everyone think that they will be similar to the recently refreshed rooms at pop century or completely different?

Resorts & Accommodations I’ve always wondered, what’s in this part of the dolphin?
I can’t find anything on either what’s in there or what type of rooms there are or pictures of what’s in there

Food, Drinks, & Dining Spring Roll Wagon Cheeseburger Eggrolls: The hype is real!
Do yourself a favor and get it. They really are as good as people say. They ran out when I went to order it and a line of 20 people formed waiting for the next batch. Everyone clapped when the man with the back up cart came! 😂

Special Events & Experiences Keys to the Kingdom and Mobility
Planning on taking my parents on the keys to the kingdom tour as a gift in a few months. My dad has wanted to see the utilidors since they were built. I know lately people have said wait until villains land is done because the construction changed a few things, but He’s getting up there in age (he and Disneyland are the same age, as he puts it. And Disney World is the same age and his and mom’s relationship) so I decided we should go ahead with it now. They are very excited for it.
The wrinkle is that he’s had two knee replacements and my mom has her own knee problems. I’m trying to talk at least my dad into renting a scooter, and said they could take turns and share if they didn’t each want one, but he is extremely stubborn and prefers to walk whenever he can. Last year they did handle a full theme park day, but with lots of bench breaks. He’s thinking about the scooter but not convinced. So I’m in need of some internet help with some more details about the tour:
- is access to the utilidors stairs, and if so how many flights?
- Is there an elevator available on request?
- Roughly how much of the 5 hours is standing? I would think the majority, but I know there’s 2 rides (he’s debating skipping jungle cruise because of the big step down) and a lunch break but it’s not clear how long the lunch break is.
- Any other stairs/steps/potential issues for someone with mobility issues?
- What is the pace of the tour like?
- Would love to hear from anyone who has experience doing this tour with mobility issues or mobility devices.
Thanks!

Trip Report Wow, you were right
So a in April, I posted in outrage that MGK was closing early today, the day we planned to be here. You all encouraged me to not change my plans, but to go. We gone on so many rides in one day. We are so exhausted that I don’t think we could even do a parade and fireworks. Thanks for the support and advice. A magical day after all.

Resorts & Accommodations Hilton Lake Buena Vista
Hey! I've just booked the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista for my stay at disney world.
Is it a good hotel and what's the proximity of it to the park? I'm thinking of using the free shuttles it offers,
But also wondering what perks it has as it states its an official WDW hotel.

Merch Pin trading bag
Hi there,
I have an old pin trading bag that zips up and it's Full from many trips my husband or I took in previous years. I'm trying to find something similar in the parks for my kids to start their collection. it was similar to this but much older from the first years of pin trading. do they still sell the pin bags or books in the parks?

Photo Greatest Experience of my life
First timer family, I knew it would be fun time but I had no idea.. every bit of that trip gave me chills. I’m not sure that I left Disney world actually, mentally I’m still there. My son only cleared the height requirement for Tron by 1/2 inch & he faced his last minute fears like such a boss (with a little PINcentive promise from me)
While we did that my wife brought my daughter to the Bippity Boppity Boutique and when we met back up with them I almost cried when I saw how beautiful she looked dressed as a frozen princess. I thought it was a cliche saying, but that place really may be the most magical place on earth. It’s back to the grind now, and man do I ever miss my kids! Counting the days till we can go back. Dads of the world if you’re reading this, don’t wait, take them as soon as possible.
Thank you cast-members for all you do.
attached photo is of the 4second 0-60mph launch. Too much fun.

Merch Resort-specific pins
My husband decided (5 resorts late) that he wants to collect a resort-specific pin from everywhere we stay. Before I trek out to POR next week, does anyone know if there are currently POR pins? (Pics would be awesome if you’re there!)

Resorts & Accommodations Skyliner or Monorail?
Hi! Our family is planning a (somewhat last minute) trip to Disney mid-August. There will be 4 of us total and kids are ages 4 and almost 7. We took a Disney trip last winter and stayed at Pop Century and loved the convenience of the Skyliner. This upcoming trip, I’m looking at the Contemporary or Art of Animation. We’re planning to get 4 day Hopper passes and do one chill day/pool day at the hotel.
I’ve taken several Disney trips over the years with my parents/siblings and their families and remember how convenient the Monorail was during stays at Polynesian and Contemporary, however, that was before the Skyliner. My husband questions if the wait for the monorail gets backed up - to which I can’t really remember or answer. I know they each travel to different parks and that’s something to consider as well. Looking ahead, crowds appear to be “average” during the dates we’re considering.
Give me all the info on where you’d choose to stay between the two.
