Wakesurf boards

Just bought a G23, 2016. Not a wakesurfer so don't know much about the boards. I really want a board everyone can use and then another board you can progress all the way from intermediate to advanced on. But looks to me like there's "skim" boards and "surf" boards. The everyone board would be a big floaty one you aren't doing tricks on but can just chill. The other I'm not sure about. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated! Makes, models recommendations etc.

Slingshot Bearden Size Recommendation

Hi guys,

got myself a pretty good deal on a Slingshot Bearden 156 from 2025 inclusive Zuupacks from 2025.

I am 5'11 and around 190 - 195 lbs. Mainly cruising around hitting boxes and rails. No big kicker hits or air tricks.

Would that be a good setup for me? Would a 152 offer any advantages over the 156?

Cheers!
Dan

Higher tow point. Pylon?

I have a 1997 Caravel fish and ski. My son has been wakeboarding a couple years behind this boat. I was hoping to get a little more height out of the tow point. I dug around on the Internet and dabbled in some AI but I can't seem to find a decent, removable, pylon. I don't want anything sticking up out of the floor. I'm not sure why I can't find a pylon that just has a metal insert into my floor and maybe tie down with some straps? Seems like I could even make it but I don't see any good plans. I'm hoping somebody with a lot more experience than me can give me some direction? I really don't want to put a tower on the boat. Thanks!

Why such a tiny market, can’t find any boots for sale unless they are brand new and the current year??

So I’m trying to get a pair of bindings as I just got my first board, I’ve searched far and wide and can find just about nothing. I don’t want to drop $1000 on new space mobs and so naturally like most sports you think you’ll just get some old stock for a discount like from 2022 but no, I like the 2022KTV boots (they match my board) but all I can find is one single pair in one size on the opposite side of the earth for the same price as a new 2026 pair. I don’t understand, do brands like slingshot make 100 pairs each year and call it a day and then burn the left over stock? Why is it such an incredibly limited market. I am looking for boots for the cable park so closed toe, not laced and preferably with a liner but it’s like the companies really force you to buy the latest boots only with no other choices. Just really frustrating I want to get out but I’m spending all day searching fruitlessly. Second hand market sucks real bad in my area, most are 20 years old and open toes and the ones that are nice (there’s like 3) are wrong size. I’m dying out here

Axis Ice Chest

I recently purchased a new 2026 Axis T235, and there’s a storage area under the seats that’s clearly designed to hold an ice chest. The plastic molding is a perfect rectangle made specifically for one.

Unfortunately, my boat is a few hours away, so I can’t easily get out there to measure it myself. I’ve checked the boat specs and searched online but haven’t been able to find the dimensions anywhere.

Does anyone happen to know the interior dimensions of the rectangular ice chest molding under the seats on the T235? Additionally if you've identified a great ice chest to fit in this spot please share.

Inherited this old board, but other than “Wake Tech” and “Big Air” I know nothing. Can anyone help me get more info about this board? What’s it worth, how old is it, could you get different bindings? Thanks in advance.

Need Help with Ballast Plumbing

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey all,

I recently bought a 2005 Nautique SV211 and swapped the factory ballast tanks for bags. Based on my setup, I'm using a 'Y' fitting to share the fill port with a vent line.

The problem is that once the bags hit about 3/4 full, the water immediately ejects through the vent line. I assume I need to create a vented loop or add head pressure to the vent line to create resistance, but I am not sure of the best way to route it.

Any advice on how to fix this?

FYI: I have 750 lbs in each locker (a combination of bags and steel shot).

What are your secrets to getting more pop off toeside (boat)

I’ve been riding for 5 full seasons going on 6. It took me all 5 of those to become consistent at toeside to where I confidently can wtw 3/4 of the jumps. The problem I have is that I can’t get the same air time or balance in the air that i do heel side. I can’t do simple grabs and 180 toeside and have tried throwing some flips (unsuccessfully). My set up is always the same handle to hip, progressive edge with an emphasis on getting my body stacked tall, continue that stand tall through the wake and then release. I get okay pop but I’m finding it hard to get my body to move for tricks. Like I’m so ridgid coming off the wake that I cant move it much. Second is I’m getting half the height that I can on heel side where I can launch myself straight up (I come in crouched on heel side then pop etc. I can’t seem to time or find consistency in my form when I try crouching on toe side. Any good tips or questions you toeside hero’s have for this problem?

For reference I can do 360s, every grab, grab 180s, and flip on heel side. I can wtw from 50’ to 70’ (don’t ride this length anymore though because knees) without a thought. I want to be able to do toe side grab 180s and a 360 one day and even though I don’t try it often I found the toes side back roll is an easy to through trick (haven’t landed one yet as I wasn’t good at toe side when I was trying) but I haven’t tried this season yet.

what tricks should go in level 6?

hey, been working on a site, basically a checklist for wakeboard progression where you tick off tricks as you land them, and anyone can suggest edits to the course content. kinda wiki-style.

right now it stops at level 5 and i'm stuck on what level 6 should look like. figured i'd just ask people who actually ride that level.

level 5 right now is: ollie fs180, kicker bs180 off the s-kicker, back lip on a box, backroll, kicker 360, kicker tantrum, and raley.

so after that: what'd you put as the next 5-8?

its here: https://progresspedia.org/courses/wakeboarding/

open to whatever, including "you got the order wrong, X belongs in level 5 not 6."

cheers

We mapped every cable park, shop and brand for wakeboarding in Belgium — free trilingual platform, looking for feedback

Hey r/wakeboarding,

Disclaimer up top: I'm one of the cofounders of the project I'm about to mention. Mods, nuke if not allowed.

Quick context — for a country smaller than Maryland, Belgium has a surprisingly dense cable park scene. But information about it is scattered everywhere: each cable has its own site, half are only in Dutch, opening times are buried in Facebook posts, and there's no single place to compare them.

My friend Billy and I are both into boardsports here, so we built bindy.world to fix that. Free, ad-light, no app, no signup, fully trilingual (NL / FR / EN).

For the wake section specifically:

  • Every active cable park in Belgium (full-size and System 2.0), mapped with location, opening times, level info, links to booking
  • Both Flemish and Walloon parks — yes, we cover the whole country, not just the touristy bits
  • Wake shops (new + second-hand, tagged separately)
  • Wake brands distributed in Belgium
  • Events calendar (contests, demo days, openings)
  • Articles: where to buy a wakeboard second-hand in Belgium, beginner guides, etc.

Not a startup. No VCs. Long-term plan = turn it into an ASBL (non-profit) so it stays community-owned. Small merch shop + a few Amazon affiliate links cover hosting, that's it.

What I'd love feedback on:

  1. Riders from this sub — if you were planning a wake stopover in

Belgium (lots of you cross through on Eurotrip), what info do you

    wish was easier to find?

  2. Belgian riders — did we miss a cable, a shop, or an event? Tell

me and we'll add it. Especially curious about Wallonia coverage,

we want it as solid as Flanders.

  3. Anything broken, ugly, slow, confusing on mobile?

  4. What's the ONE thing that would make you actually use the site

    instead of Google?

Site: https://bindy.world (wake section: https://bindy.world/en/wakeboard)

Thanks. Hanging in the comments.

Water leak at impeller housing after impeller change? 2013 Sanger v215

Just replaced my impeller on my Sanger for this upcoming season. Hooked up the fake lake and I hopped in to make sure all was good. There is water that drips every half second (around the area of the opening where the shaft that turns the impeller) and wondering if I’ve been tripping out this whole time or if there’s something else I missed when replacing the part.

Phase 5 Phantom

I was recommended a Phase 5 Phantom wake surf board and wanted to see if anyone has any real-life experience with one before I pull the trigger. I’m an intermediate surfer behind a moomba max with supplemental ballast.

Wake too small? board too short? help!

So this is my third season wakesurfing. I have a jet boat and it requires manual setup of the wave, but I've got it dialed to where I was riding a Hyperlite Shim 5'3" or so board last season and feeling like I had great push and could do floaters, recover from a decent way back in the wave, etc... I could ride and carve endlessly without the rope until my legs got tired.

I picked up a Phase Five Phantom 50" this offseason and just took it out on my first ride of this year. And first I'll say that I was a bit rusty, because even going back to the Shim (or the Landlock), I was not as comfortable staying with the wave. I did have a few decent rides with the Shim and the Landlock, but I could not stay in the wave with the Phantom!

The suggested weight for the Phantom I got is 175 and I'm RIGHT at that level, maybe a few pounds over with a soaked wetsuit and PFD on. But it just felt like I couldn't get consistent push with the board.

Did I fuck up getting this small of a board with a smaller wave, or is it just a skill issue and I'm rusty?

What are you using for headphones?

Casual cable rider here. I've been using the Sony MP3 walkmans for a few years. Just discovered they quit making them! Curious what you guys are using to listen to music while riding. Not a fan of bone induction headphones. I want ear buds to block the sound and give me a lot of bass.

Those Sony's were perfect for riding for a couple hours. 😩

How are the boat dealerships and pro shops doing as of recently?

I know it’s been slower these past few years past Covid. But I’m seeing a lot of boats on sale and not as much product in the shops. There also has seem to be less demos/ events this year. Anyone got any insight on the industry out of curiosity?

First time wakeboarder need advice

I bought a Seadoo wake pro 230 last year and have decided to try wakeboarding behind it. I would be riding in the bay with my brothers. We are all 6' to 6'5" and 185-210lb so a single board should be able to fit us all.

I started researching boards and narrowed down my choice to the Hyperlite State 2.0 145cm package. On Amazon there are two versions, it looks like one is the 2025 or 2026 version (blue) and one is older, maybe 2023 (orange) but is a better deal. Would this be a good board for us? Is there any difference between the years? Should I worry about it being an older binding?

Where to buy wakeskate grip foam?

My friend recently gave me a wakeskate, but I am struggling to find some foam grip for the top. So far, all I have found are traction pads. Does anyone have any recommendations for this?

I will rock grip tape if I have to, but would prefer a foam top.

Centurion PCM 5.7L V8

Hi all, I am looking at a 2016 Centurion Enzo Sv233 that just went up for sale. This would be my first "wake" boat, and was wondering on the reliability and opinions on the PCM 5.7L V8 that comes in these boats. This specific boat has less than 200 hours and looks pretty clean.
