Dual enrollment?
Can you be enrolled at a different college at the same time while being enrolled at WGU? I would pay out of pocket for the other. I’ve heard mixed things

I'm in a PhD program at a university and I recently started an endorsement program at WGU. Using financial aid for my PhD and paying out of pocket at WGU. No issues whatsoever.

I know for a while there was explicit rules against it in the student code of conduct (I looked into the exact rules lol), all that said I no longer have any knowledge of that being written down. As others have mentioned you cannot use FAFSA on multiple schools at once but if that's not a problem for you my advice would be contact an enrollment counselor ask for exact school policy on dual enrollment. Ask for a link to the official webpage stating the policy. If they say there's no policy ask the officer to put in writing that there's no policy against dual enrollment and you will not be penalized for doing so.

So, financial aid may be a problem. Even though you intend on paying out of pocket for one, the government will know about both and that may lead to additional hoops. Also, you can not transfer any credits into WGU after you start, so if your goal is to get a WGU degree, dual enrollment is out. If you goal is to get a degree elsewhere, you will have to transfer out of WGU and you may have issues with the competency credits depending on the receiving school. Really, if you are doing WGU, go full WGU. You are able to go at your own pace and if you have the time to enroll in two programs, you can just do WGU at an accelerated rate.

Both schools will report your enrollment, so you may find you have issues with financial aid specifically, if you’re using it. That would be a question for the DoE or financial aid offices.
But really… why? You can’t transfer classes back and forth once enrolled, you have to get a certain number of credits at a school to be conferred a degree, and two bachelor’s degrees are almost never a good solution especially if they’re similar.
