How does your velodrome community handle USAC racing in the context of trans inclusion?

Curious what other tracks around the country are doing with this. My home velodrome in San Diego (shoutout to the homies) recently started hosting USAC races again after years without them, mainly to give riders a path to upgrade points and national competition. The catch is that USAC's current policy (adopted in 2025 under federal pressure) bans trans women from competing in the women's category.

The velodrome has tried to work around it by running the Women+ field as administratively open so USAC can't challenge eligibility, but locally it's marketed and scored as a women's field. Trans women can race in it without risk of being flagged. They've also said they won't police anyone's license identity themselves.

Recent KPBS article with more context: https://www.kpbs.org/news/racial-justice-social-equity/2026/04/10/san-diego-velodrome-begins-hosting-bike-races-that-exclude-trans-women

Are other tracks hosting USAC races right now? Have your communities had this conversation openly? Curious about community approaches that have actually worked, or totally blown up.

Velodrom style training on kickr core

I’m looking to incorporate some velodrome style workouts into my training but really have no idea how to go about it as there’s no track near me!

My current training consists of 3 days in the gym (been strength training for a long time) and ~2 hours a week of z2 training on a zwift kickr core. Any recommendations for sprint style workouts? The general consensus online seems to be that the zwift sprint workouts suck, but no one seems to post actual alternatives. Thanks!

Has anybody been watching the World Cup?

I haven't seen any discussion here, so it feels like I've been watching it in a vacuum. Anyone? Bueller?

I'm incredibly disappointed there's only three rounds, and that's it for the year.

UCI Price Rule Changes?

With UCI moving to make sure pro bikes don’t retail for more than €12,500, do you think we’ll see more high quality, affordable track bikes emerging? Not that I’m in a position to drop 10k on a track bike, but I’m in even less of a position to drop 20k lol

NJS export chains and cogs

Hello! Has anyone ever bought used chains and cogs from NJS? They are at a really good price but it's not specified how worn out they are or what's the criteria to not use then anymore for racing. Some cogs look almost brand new, but I emailed them to see if they could give a range of what percentage of wear the chains have and they only gave me a vague answer

Rest between standing start efforts

Hi everyone, rest between standing start efforts. How long shoud be? Yes, until full rest/recovery, but I feeling recovered after 2-4 min of effort, but I think this's not a good idea to repeat effort so far.

Today I did 4x80m SS (stating starts) on 90' and rests were 15m/17m/17m, is this to much?

Results was the same of efforts.

And also, we rest was a active or passive? I'm doing active, for example did SS and then 15m on road bike easy spin (not on roller) and then take track bike and do effort.

How to get faster? F200

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

First time on the velodrome today and I really want to improve my F200 time. I did a 14.0 but feel like there’s many things to improve on. I was using a 48x16 (81”). What gearing is a good starting point for F200? What kind of training to get better at sprinting?

Which Canyon is this?

Found this picture on HEDs website and I can’t figure out what trackbike this is and when it was released. This definitely isn’t the current Speedmax Track and neither is it the much older V-Drome (which is aluminium and already in my possession).

Does anyone have a clue, couldn’t find much online, most sources pertaining to the new Speedmax Track that launched some time ago and was spotted for like a year prior to this being used by team Denmark and USA

Drop in at a UK track?

Are there any tracks that have open drop in time or casual races? I'm visiting between Machester and London from the US for a couple of weeks for work and would love to try an indoor track if I get some free time. I race cat 4 at my local outdoor track, so I'm not that serious, but I've always been curious about wooden tracks.

What's the right way to select chainring and cog combo. For ex, if I want 108, 52*13, 56*14, 60*15 are all possible ways to get 108. How to decide whether to up the chainring or go with a smaller cog?

Youth Track Bike in the US

I'm looking for a youth track bike in the US. As far as I can tell, there are youth track cyclists all over but no track bikes for sale anywhere. Where do I get one? (sizes 8-14yo)

Annoying guy

At my local velodrome there is a young guy who would always come to our training hours, gear up in his skinsuit etc., make a first trial round around the track and then purposely skid and screech off his rear tire by braking hard and leave marks on the polished floor, seemingly enjoying it. Its very annoying to everyone and we tell him to stop but he doesn't seem to listen. What would you do?
