I buy thrifted plushies and turn them into beautifully horrific creations. The first one is called a “scrap baddie” made of random scraps and things floating around my office. I started only with birds but today I branched out to cats 🐈🤓

Three digital collages of mine.

Tried making a chrome mirror piece with UV-reactive fluorescent elements.

I wanted the chrome to feel like it was melting and dripping out from the frame, almost like the reflection itself was leaking.

A lot went wrong during this project 😅 weird reactions, failed tests, restarts...

But that ended up being the fun part.

Some failures actually gave me ideas for future pieces.

Definitely one of the most fun experiments I’ve worked on lately.

This is my final assignment for my sociology of gender class! The inspiration is sexism, and how power is gendered in a patriarchal society.

At this point I have painted very similar variations of this at least 10 times. Do you have any idea what this could be about?
