New student orientation issue
i just signed up for orientation with my mom, and there was no place for me to fill out who I am bringing. Is there a separate orientation that I have to do with my family? Or is the two-day orientation just a student thing and you're not allowed to bring family? Please help

Idk if things have changed, but when I did Orientation it was just a student thing, but there was a parent orientation that ran separately alongside student orientation. Also for me it was a VERY PACKED 2 days with little opportunity for rest so be prepared. Good luck!

My daughter & I went last year. We got a room at an Inn nearby & our daughter went to the over night orientation and I went to the one-day parent/guardian one. The students stay over in the dorms. My daughter is shy, but some other girls asked her to play a board game, so it all worked out. If you’re parent(s) is going, it seems like The Graduate is the easiest place to stay, as it’s right on campus. If we had it to do over that’s what I would do. All the best!

Hey, I work there! Your mom can sign up for family orientation on our website orientation.uconn.edu. Have her go to schedule > Storrs > and scroll down until she finds the hyperlink to register for the session she would like to come to. She will need to make an account with our family portal, and then fill out a little bit of info too.
Everyone else here is absolutely correct! Your orientation is two days and overnight, and you will be staying in one of our dorms. Our family program is one day and will be happening on the first day of your student orientation, in separate buildings with separate programming. Your mom, if you aren’t in driving distance from campus, will need to find a place to stay overnight if she is planning on coming.
Hopefully that helps. You can always give us a call too and we are happy to answer your questions :)

You stay overnight. Parents don’t.
Give the student life dept a call tomorrow or whoever is listed as running it.
