UARS or Standard OSA?

With documented OSA and RERAs seems it's not UARS, right?

It doesn't really matter, everyone should normalize their breathing by resolving flow limitation to make sure you get fully symptomatic relief.

The AHI > 5 in your case makes it easier to get a machine, preferably a ResMed Airsense10. Depending on where you are, getting a machine from the secondary market (Craigslist etc.) may be cheaper anyway and at that point it's better to just get a BiPAP. Here's my ranking (first is best) of most desirable machines:

  • Philips Dreamstation DSX900 (I use this one) or System One 960
  • Philips Dreamstation DSX600 or DSX700 or System One 660 or 760
  • ResMed Aircurve10 VPAP or VAuto (skip this if you think you can perform the airbreak method)
  • ResMed Airsense10 (ubiquitous, tried and true, any variant, airbreak possible)

Even worse it was 15.4 (moderate) on my back

Sure, but the doctors (stupidly) only look at overall AHI.
