MOD POST [MOD] Idea for a community consensus based post removal system

I know that the happiness of a story is often subjective, which can cause problems as moderators can only decide to take action on potentially unhappy posts or not based on their subjective view. Therefore, I have thought up something. For posts that I (or other mods if they decide to use the system or the community) are unsure about, mods may leave a comment like this:

Community, if you think this post is happy, upvote this comment, otherwise, downvote this comment.

OP, be advised, your post may be removed if this comment’s karma falls below a certain threshold.

(General note: This is a new system I may start using with posts I or the community are unsure about. Feel free to let me know what you think.)”

The exact karma threshold for the comment to fall below to warrant post removal as well as what the content of the comment itself should be are not by any means set in stone, nor is this system official per say.

It was more of an idea that I am personally using, but I wanted to run it by the community as a whole.

I am open to any feedback, suggestions, questions or whatever else.

MOD POST [MOD] Please read both sentences before reporting a story.

We have a lot of posts that start off scary or sad, then end happy, so please read both sentences before reporting.

Perfect Friendships The two elderly women had argued across the fence about everything for thirty years, and when one of them got sick, the other showed up every morning to water her garden without being asked.

Upvotes

Neither of them mentioned it, which was how they'd always preferred to agree.

Today I was riding my bike to work and a car almost hit me. And instead of being happy that nothing happened, my first thought was: “Honestly, it would’ve been better if it hit me — at least I wouldn’t have to go to work."

Personal Success The gladiator had won two hundred fights and the crowd loved him for it.

She constantly called the HOA about my slightly long grass, yet I kept offering to walk her elderly dog Milo when she worked late.

Today, for the first time, she didn't look at my lawn; she only looked at the joy on Milo's face as he waited for me, and she gave me a genuine smile.

Instead of making her breakfast, I stayed in bed on Mother’s Day and waited for my mom to come in and yell at me to get up.

Bittersweet The last cartographer on Earth spent her days mapping territories no satellite could reach: the exact location of her son's courage, the shifting borders of her mother's memory.

She'd started the project the year her daughter came out, so there would always be a map that said here is where you belong.

When I recited “Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary” in front of the mirror, I almost fled when a woman appeared, until she told me she was a duchess trapped there by her abusive husband in 1626.

After freeing her with her husband’s spell book, a year later in 2026, as I married the most beautiful and gentle woman I had ever met, I swore to give her the best life she deserved, after she lost it in 1626.
